Which pocket folding knife with screwdriver (EDC/SD)?

Yikes re: those obsidian pictures / failure stories. I have one and it has actually rotated to the top of my EDC list because I am almost as likely to need a small screwdriver as I am to need a knife on a daily basis. That being said, I've carried the Obsidian for about 9 months and haven't...

How do you carry your folder?

Like many on this thread, I'm indifferent as to tip-up vs. tip down. Some of my knives are configured each way. What is consistent is how I carry them - clipped in my front strong-side (right hand) pocket. Except when I am carrying my SigP238 there.... then I carry my knife in a cargo...

    longest streak

Depends on how picky you want to be about the definition of 'failure' - a couple of my guns had minor issues with short-cycling etc. in their first 100 rounds, but none since, which could be operator error or just break-in periods. So going down the list: FN Hi-Power - ~3000 rounds over 8...

    Your Favorite Carry Round

I tend to carry .380 (Sig P238 pocket-carried) the most often, but that has more to do with the platform than the round. At some point I will try out the P938 (a friend of mine recently got one) and if the recoil isn't excessive, I may switch to carrying that instead.

If you could own only one nine........

    BHP. An easy choice :)

What's your age group and what do you carry?

    33. I usually carry a Sig P238 in a RKBA pocket holster, although I occasionally carry a FN Hi-Power in a IWB HBE Com2 holster. I recently acquired an STI Spartan IV 9mm (4" 1911) and a CrossBreed supertuck holster for it, and have been experimenting with carrying that.

    44 Magnum options

I got bit by the .44 Mag bug earlier this year, and after a short search stumbled across a used (like new) S&W 629 Classic 6.5" at a local gun store for $650. It is surprisingly pleasant to shoot (shooting factory .44 Mag ammo, not crazy handloads) and extremely accurate. The muzzle blast /...

Help me decide SIG P238 or Colt Mustang XSP or standard Mustang

I've had a 238 HD (steel framed model - slightly heavier than the normal alloy framed versions) for a year and a half. It has become my primary carry gun over that time because I can easily pocket carry it in most cargo pants / cargo shorts / casual slacks using a RKBA rawhide pocket holster -...

Those of you that have shot or owned a lot of different handguns, which are best?

Browning Hi-Power. There's simply nothing else like it.

do people like their rock islands

I have a Daly 'EMS' Stainless 4" model, and have been fairly impressed with it. Well fit and finished, good trigger. My only concern is the small part quality - I haven't had any problems with it through the first 1K rounds, at least. I'll probably replace the extractor if I ever start...

    Ruger ??

That's quite a bargain! My only knock on the Ruger P89 (used to own one - was my first handgun in fact) is that it is way too big for what it is, and because of the aluminum frame, you don't even get the benefit of greatly reduced recoil from the size. Hard to carry concealed - believe me...

    What is your favorite .380

Among those I've shot, I really liked the Bersa Thunder (used to own one in fact) Accurate, lightweight, good trigger and ergonomics. A little too big for pocket carry though...

What kind of defensive ammo do you use?

Corbon +p+ 125gr 9x19 in my HP and Sig Golden Saber 230gr in my 1911s on the occasions when I carry one of them. Been meaning to try the 127gr Ranger SXTs one of these days, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

How many rounds does a makarov hold?

+1, unless you have one of the commercial Russian double-stack models, which (IIRC) are 13+1, like a CZ-83.

    Browning high power for ccw

One way around the issue is to get the FN SFS HiPower - mine serves as my EDC (in a HBE holster very similar to the one pictured above) and is a very fine shooter. I used to carry a 'normal' MkII HP C&L and never was concerned about it, or had any issues.
