Model 7 and 700 barrels are the same size and thread.

Take a look at Benchmark barrels.

I normally charge $200 to turn down, thread, chamber, crown and bead blast or polish a barrel. That does not include profiling. You should really order the barrel already contoured. Benchmark Barrels is in Washing State and do great work. I would highly recommend them.

To make the story even longer. HS Precision and Mcmillan pads are glued on, no screws used. In those cases I use black bedding to install them when changing them out for a customer.

Take a look at Benchmark barrels. Unless a customer demands another barrel, there barrrels are all i use. They are hand lapped 2 times and some of the best, slickest barrels on the market.

Kind of sounds like the old 351SL round. You might want to take a look at it.

Be careful doing it. You might set your bolt back to far and open up your headspace to an unsafe point.
