How to sew with a swiss army knife

Tinkerer is my favorite...or super tinkerer...or Scout...or alox pioneer...but I do really like the Phillips. I’ve used it a lot. A month ago we were clearing a trail and there were some trees about 2” diameter we needed gone. I pulled out my SAK and people laughed. I used the saw and they...

    feeling nostalgic

Even in the 90s when I lived in CO you could go to Longs drugs, buy a pistol, ammo, medicine and rent a movie for .99.

Is everyone still loving their Ruger Wranglers?

I think they work well, but a single action shouldn’t be green or whatever...I prefer a single 6. But I would own a wrangler just because...

Rifle optics: a blue collar spending perspective for cost / benefit

I bought a used model 70 in 1991 that had a Tasso scope on it. Hunted with it for years. Never lost its zero. Upgraded to Leupold just because. Changed that out to another rifle and put the tasco back on. Still zeroed. That thing is a beast. I got the oddball I guess. It works perfect for...

Vintage Handgun Values - up or down?

I bought an unfixed Security 6 from 1976 last year in the box for $575. The prior owner had left his receipt in the box from 2021. He had paid $1000. So they are down. Covid purchase...

What other hobbies occupy your loading bench?

Currently… a couple of woodworking tools. In the past.. ham radios. Now I separate the two. Though I have 4 presses on my home bench, I’m on the road a lot for work. So my bench is a hotel desk. I travel with a Lee hand press.

How Many Extra Magazines Per Handgun?

I lived through the AWB. Never again will I be in that situation. I’m not saying that you need 500 mags per gun. But I buy larger than 10 round mags as if I will not be able to in the future. I want to be able to keep my guns useable as long as possible. Whether a mag breaks, get lost etc...

    Unwelcome visitor

I had a lot of copperheads in my yard in AR. Neighbors dogs got bit a few times. Moved to MS and had moccasins in my yard a lot. Moved to KY and no poisonous snakes in the yard but had a ball of garder snakes in my yard. I know they are “good” but that was to much. Killed 17 one day and...

    16ga ???

I’m a 16g fan. My dad had a 16 as his only shotgun when I was growing up. First shotgun I ever shot. He moved on to a 12 later. When he died I inherited the 16g. I bought more. I love a 16 on a 20 frame. It’s a great gauge.

Do You Change Your Every Day Carry When Going On Lengthy Out of State Road Trips?

Let me expand on my previous reply… I drive a lot. Last year 75k miles. My job covers 5 states. I carry my 43x everyday. Weekends, weekdays, wherever. So not vacation but everyday life. On a vacation I’m carrying the same. If I go to a stupid state…well… I sure do like my 43x.

Yesterday in the barn, AKA: melting stuff is fun!

Yeah, I would bring them home a little full and then bring home other ones and keep filling them until they were all the way full

Yesterday in the barn, AKA: melting stuff is fun!

You said the buckets were 25 lbs. that is at that height I guess. Any idea what a full bucket weighs? I have lots of full buckets but I’ve never weighed them.

Looks like Centerfire Systems dredged the bottom of the river for these used guns.

I go by their store every few weeks. Guys are really nice and I’ve gotten some really good deals. They have a lot of that kind of stuff that they get from police auctions. I don’t buy it. They can charge whatever they want. I buy stuff that I think is a good deal. These are not for me. If...
