    Question about carrying...in the bathroom?

Hmm, I do things a little differently because that is how I learned them when I took my CCW class (yes, we covered this!) First, I pick a stall, usually somewhere in the middle of the line as I hate to be put in a corner. Then, I close the door, and before I sit down, I draw the weapon and...

White House Signals It Will Ask Retailers for Help on Gun Control

Last time, Ruger supported (very vocally) the AWB. Thankfully, the old man has passed on, so I don't think they'll try that again, but believe me, everyone has a price at which they can be purchased, and remember that we are dealing with chicago mobsters here - they know how to twist an arm...

foreigner wanting to understand NRA voting advice

I didn't see it mentioned yet, so I'll say it. Obama presided over the Fast and Furious scandal, which, if you are naive, you'll consider at least to be gross negligence over handling the ATF. If you can put 2 and 2 together, it was definitely a ploy by the administration to set the stage for...

Light on your conceal carry. What happened to me, last night.

Orion - here's my experience. I've had a small light on my key chain for many years, and it has been extremely useful, just in every day life. About a year ago, I upgraded to a 'tactical' light (gosh, I hate that term) fenix pd20, btw, and I couldn't be happier. It's small enough to fit on my...

Tips for CCW in an office?

Personally, I think sticking with the snubby would be a reasonable choice and look into some different carry options. Belly band, should holster or shirt, etc. then get a car gun if you want extra protection while on your way to work, ec. However some of the small 9mm pistols could work...

My ffl says no more Buds Gun Shop transfers

Come on now - it's entirely feasible to state that the federal law could be changed so that FFLs (not just buds) could ship directly to a CCW holder's address with proof of a current license and verification by the issuing agency. Would you support that?

My ffl says no more Buds Gun Shop transfers

@ Bubba613 and drsfmd - would you support legislation that would allow buds to ship directly to CCW holders?

My ffl says no more Buds Gun Shop transfers

And about supporting the local gun stores, NONE of the stores around me carry any reasonable selection of holsters, belts, grips, accessories, books, etc. None do custom gunsmithing at any level. None do engraving. With holsters alone, they could be adding $50 profit to most pistol sales they...

My ffl says no more Buds Gun Shop transfers

I used to think that it was good to support the LGS. Then I looked around at a bunch of them near me. Some didn't take transfers and wouldn't order anything at reasonable prices. One was asking $350 for a used rossi 38 that sells new at Academy for $270 down the road. The best shop I could...

Shortcomings of Pump Shotgun Shown in 1986 Miami FBI Shootout?

The lesson I've taken from this incident after revisiting it many times is that handguns are a last ditch defensive weapon only. If All the FBI agents rolled out of their cars with pump shotguns stoked with 00 buckshot, things would have been different. But they brought revolvers to a rifle fight.

    Duty and carry gun philosophies

I'm not a cop and never will be one, so ignore the comment if you will. That said, I would sign up for as much training as possible. The only other thing I would add is that if I were a cop, I would definitely carry a bug, and it would be a jframe sized airweight revolver in 38. I would...

Why we need National CCW Reciprocity now!

To expound a little bit, I think the best, most effective long term strategy is to do two things. 1) Support the SAF in litigation to create really good precedent in the courts, because the SAF cases really are on track to turning the right to carry into a civil rights issue. 2) Support...

If you CCW, please read this ...

It sounds to me like this is just a finely tuned infrared camera. I'm not sure what the controversy would be for those that CCW. As long as it doesn't emit harmful radiation and the police use it only in place of a pat down (ie, they don't mindlessly drive up and down the street scanning...
