International Competition Quality Repro percussion pistols

E.N. Santa Barbara 1858 Remingtons ?? Smokin_Gun, I have never heard of them. The hardened steel would be a plus to me. I have always been disappointed in the soft steel used in most Italian replicas. The engraving looks very nice too. Is the right grip panel on the lower...

International Competition Quality Repro percussion pistols

$250.00 ?? "I don't see this 'ruffling anyone's feathers'. I don't know of anyone who would reasonably claim a $250 gun would compete equally with a $1500 gun." I certainly agree with the concept of this but will add that if you can still find Old Army revolvers for $250.00 you best buy all...

Old Army Rugers--A Question or Two

Ruger Old Army I like the Ruger Old Army revolvers. No...they don't balance as well as a Remington 1858 or a Colt 1851. The weight of a 7.5" barreled adjustable site Old Army is 2 pounds 14 ounces. The advertised weight of the reproduction Walker can vary from 4 pounds 4 ounces to 4 pounds 8...

    NAA Mini Revolver temptation...

My NAA Experience I ordered a NAA Mini .22 short model several years ago. If my dealer had not ordered it special for me I would not have accepted it. The serial number stamping is so out of line that one of the numbers are at least half the height of the number out of line with the other...

    lead and casting round balls

AdmiralB, I think you are referig to the older plumber's solder. The folks here when they mention "plumber's lead" are refering to the thin sheet soft lead that you would find in an old shower pan liner. Most plumber's solder used today contains no lead at all.

Who Makes The Best Revolvers (SA & DA)?

Okay... I will play too.... I am more of a single action fan than a double action fan. My vote goes to Freedom Arms. I own several and have plenty of Colts, Rugers and Smiths to compare them to. The Freedom Arms revolvers are expensive and I would not buy them If I did not feel they are worth...

    Range Report Walker VS ROA

Novety Guns I will admit to owning a S&W 500. It never comes out of the safe. I do like large bore revolvers with lots of power but in a packable size gun. My .50 caliber Old Army weighs very close to the same as it did before the conversion and has a shorter barrel so it is actually a bit...

    Range Report Walker VS ROA

Okay..that one was just too big..... Perhaps a bit smaller would be in order:neener: One Inch Bore Cap & Ball... The guy holding it is the maker:uhoh: And then there is always the modern cartridge revolvers:what:

    Blackhorn 209?

209 Shotgun Primer Ignition Rachen wrote: They mentioned that it was engineered for modern inline M.L. using 209 ignition right on the website. I am curious if it will perform well at all with percusion caps. I have little doubt that it will perform well in a modern inline with a 209...

Rim Dia. - .475 Linebaugh for FA vs .500 S&W plinki wrote: Actually the rim on the .475 Linebaugh brass that is sold commercially is smaller in diameter than the .500 S&W rim. The rim diameter of the 45-70 that the .475 was originally made from will not fit in the Freedom Arms revolver. It...

    50 Wyoming Express?

plinky has it.... This exact thing has been done by a few custom smiths on this exact revolver for years now. I wish it just had a simlple rim design instead of the belt. If there really is a reason for it I fail to understand it myself and I own one. They are nice guns though. I have never...
