Where can I buy real black powder in CA?

It is my experience that Sierra Gun Supply in Auburn is the only retailer that handles black powder within a 60 my radius of Sacramento. I have been to most all the ones mentioned at biggamehunt and they do not carry black powder. Most retailers in CA do not handle black powder. You can call...

Where can I buy real black powder in CA?

If you only want a small amount to try and are in the Auburn area go to Sierra Gun Supply at 2131 Grass Valley Highway. If you need a larger amount, on line is the way to go. You can check out muzzle loading clubs if there are any in your area.

How to fix a loose wedge??

$23.50 plus shipping, not expensive? At this rate if you add a few more parts you could buy a complete new gun for what that would cost.

    Load all six at once.

I received my loader today. Quick service. They shipped Friday and I got it today. I appears well made and it come with a bushing so can load '51, '60 and '58. I put a ROA cylinder in and the seating head line up but will have to test. I got it for my homemade pepperbox. I'll be testing it...

    Load all six at once.

It is .44 cal. and I load 18 grs. fff with cow or wad, they both shoot about the same. The felt recoil is about the same as with a barrel. The target is 23"x35" and I was shooting instinctively with the gun at waist level from 5 yards. I tried some birdshot with felt wads above the powder...

Pyrodex, does it have a shelf-life?

When you said it "fizzzzz" when ignited, did you mean when it was loaded in your weapon or when it was lit in the open? Pyrodex will burn slow like smokeless powder not like blackpowder.

Pyrodex, does it have a shelf-life?

I bought some Pyrodex CTG from a fellow the other day. Some of you know how long that has been out of production. I crushed some of it to a size similar to RS and P. I tested it in my ROA 27 grains with grits filler. They fired the same as the Goex 3F, no delayed ignition. I also tried it in...

    This Ol' Smoke Pole...

I have a 'flam-n go' on my traditions and it takes the small rifle primer. Another way to clean the barrel using the 'pumping' action put a rubber or vinyl tubing on the nipple, turn it over(presuming it is on a rest) and put the tubing in a small container of water. Less mess.
