    TV as a backstop

The magnets in a TV are very small, small enough that you would have trouble hitting one if you could see it, much less if you can't, they are also fragile enough I doubt that they would even stop a 22 rimfire. I grew up in a TV shop, the really old TV's had some sheet metal in them that might...

Winchester Small Rifle (WSR) primers and AR type guns

I've only loaded a few thousand, 5,000+ 223 shells for use in my AR-15's, 99% of those with Winchester small rifle primers with no issues of any kind. One difference with the AR design is that the firing pin in an AR cannot reach the primer till the bolt is locked, so while a slam fire is...

The best way to clean 223 brass?

Use walnut shell for cleaning, it cleans at least twice as fast as corn cob, clean is important, shiny is nice but not necessary.

    What is "Remanufactured" ammunition ?

OK, here's some actual photo proof of "hearsay", hint: this doesn't show good quality control on Ultramax part. They don't just make this stuff up out of thin air...... http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=319431

    Recommend Brass Tumbler

Clean brass is important, shiny is nice but not needed. Back in the 60's the vibratory brass cleaners hadn't come out yet, the only thing available was the rotary tumblers which are expensive, and chemical cleaning, very few people owned a brass cleaner, I just cleaned my brass with soap and...

    "Reclassified" commercial ammo?

I haven't seen a label saying "reclassified", but there have been runs of law enforcement ammo labeled as "Not for law enforcment use" or "For practice only", these have been certain lots of ammo that don't perform to the level required for defense use. One that I recall specifically were...

    Question about range collected brass

Anything with a missing primer is junk, if you pick it up, throw it away! The missing primer is evidence of primer pockets that have stretched to the point where they will no longer retain the primer, they aren't suitable for reloading.

    What is "Remanufactured" ammunition ?

Unless they have changed it lately, Cabela's was using Ultramax for their reloaded ammo, remanufactured is simply a pretty word for reloaded. Ultramax isn't that great, on AR15.com they have the Ammunition Review & Reference, it takes reports from actual users of the product and compiles them...

    sks problems

If you haven't already done this, the very first thing to do to an SKS is a complete and total teardown and cleaning, getting all the cosmolene out of everything, including inside the bolt. http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/carbine/index.asp

    my newest purchase!

Mine was really loaded with cosmolene, the most effective thing I tried was WD40, it worked better than anything else I tried, some people have had good luck with steam cleaning. http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/index.asp http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/cleaning/hs.asp...
