    M16 berthier parts

Yup they have some of the parts I need just not those two bolts. Found some parts on ebay too. When I got it the mag cover was missing, the bolt was in pieces, and the screws for the trigger assembly were gone. I knocked a few burrs off the extractor and was able to reassemble the bolt, which...

    M16 berthier parts

Hello everyone. I'm currently rebuilding a Berthier. My biggest problem is I'm missing s bunch of screws. Most I've been able to source but not the two that go through the stock to the receiver. Do any of you guys have this rifle and would have the length and thread pitch of them. I have access...

Fowler linked to spiller and burr

Here's the document. The gunsmith is J.M. Bradford. The Spiller and Burr Smith looks to be an M. Bradford. I found a Georgia historical society research center in Savannah. I'm going to reach out to them Monday.

Fowler linked to spiller and burr

A family friend gifted me this Fowler over the weekend. Calling it rough would be a compliment I think but it had some interesting paperwork with it. The paperwork was written by a gunsmith out of Georgia who writes about the work he's done to the gun as well as his shop being burned down by...

    Questions about a Trapdoor Springfield

I found an older thread with a serial number guide. If I'm reading it right it was either December of 1888 or January 1899 so the stock and barrel add up. Makes me curious if it was a factory parts gun.

    Questions about a Trapdoor Springfield

Hey guys! So over the weekend I picked up a pretty nice(to me) 1884 springfield trapdoor. It's got a date stamp of 1898 stamped onto the stock but as I've done some research some things don't add up. For one it has the 73 style cleaning rod and bayonet instead of the spike bayonet. It's also got...

Black powder blanks for theatrical use

For muskets as long as you use real black powder you need no wad. a cap will poof it just fine and like others said indoors a cap would be more then enough. For my 58 remington and coach gun I ram a bit of toilet paper over the powder to keep it in place. As a reenactor we either elevate...

The only privately owned firing howitzer in the US?

I don't post much on here anymore but this is what I get to play with. It's a Mexican war era 6 pounder that was also used by the Confederates during the Civil War We live shoot it once a year at the Grayling antique artillery compitition in Grayling Mi.

how much powder for 2.5# lead cannonball?

Well the service load for a 6 pounder is a pound and a quarter so Id guess a half to 3 quarters of a pound. This is based off an iron ball though

    Any cannon owners here?

Damn I never noticed that typo. Was supposed to be the dgw mortar. I thought the Paulson brothers might have had the implements but I didn't see any listed.

How and where do you store your BP?

In the original cans inside a army ammo box. Easy storage

    Any cannon owners here?

Does anyone know the size of the eve mortar? By the bore size I'm guessing its a 24 pounder but it doesn't say. I'm thinking of going half in on one with a friend of mine. I think we could build one carriage and all for under 700. Problem is finding the implements to go with it
