I love my H&R Handi rifle in 44mag for what you describe. Love.

I have a few tack-driving .22 pellet rifles that, if going off of how they shot the first brand of pellets I tried, I would have used as tomato stakes. I will say that most of mine have done well enough for hunting with the Diablo Exacts.

For a rifle I am going to use, synthetic trumps wood in weight, durability, repeatability, and utility. For something to look at, well, wood is/can be better looking.

While I love my Tikka, it is in a low-recoil caliber. The aluminum recoil lug on the Tikka would turn me to the Vanguard.

That is my point. Other than for backdoor registration purposes, why does .gov GAF in the first place? Make the question something like: "do you intend to re-sell this firearm to a prohibited person or in an illegal manner?"

My issue with the entire case and the BATFE's "addition" of questions, not to mention the complete 180 of their interpretation, is idea that buying a gun for someone else, THEN TRANSFERRING IT TO THAT PERSON THROUGH AN FFL, thus ensuring that they are not a prohibited person, is illegal.

A lot if you are close and hit bone. I got two with a 16.5" handi-rifle this year. I used 240grain XTPs with good results.

Yes, I have shot several deer at the end of legal light. I make sure it is a GOOD shot, and I use a headlamp to field-dress.
