I have two guns I'd like to check out. the first one is a Model 37 no dash, round butt, 1 7/8 in. barrel, 5 shot .38 special. the ser. no. is: 54279X. The second is: Model 65-4 SB, 4" HB 6 shot .357 magnum/.38 special. ser. no. BER822X. Thanks alot folks. Gondo

You might try looking for that type of screw at a place called "Fastenall" if that's how it's spelled. They have the best assortment of screws I've seen. I always thought that if I had to come up with a screw for one of my Smith's grips, I might try to replace it with an allen head stainless...

For minimal peening of the stop notches, I always try to line the top round up with the forcing cone as closely as possible, the push the cylinder shut with my thumb. You would be surprised at how quickly this becomes habit and how easy it is to hit it perfectly after a little practice. This...

I have used deer for targets. They don't run at all, so if you don't hit one it probably won't scare it off. gondo

Model 37 no dash 1968 This little gun has been carried every day for a long long time. It shoots great. I have always shot 158 grain standard pressure loads in it and it shows no sign of wear mechanically. Just ain't real purty:what:, at least all the numbers match;) good luck, gondo

I am just curious, I know it is not wise to leave the magazine fully loaded on a pump shotgun for extended periods of time. I have heard that it can reduce the tension of the spring. I was just wondering if the spring can regain its tension if the gun is unloaded and left for a long period of...

I agree that one of the best ways is to back the screw out a little, maybe a couple or three turns, and tap the screw head with a flat non-marring object. I use a wooden hammer. Once you remove the grip that comes loose, you can push the other one off through the grip frame. Peace, Gordon

Formbys tung oil. 12 hrs minimum between coats. I let it set 24 hrs. between coats. follow the instructions on the can. works great for me. Peace, gondo
