Enfield British 303 scope mounting Choice

Another Scope Mount Option Another good option if you can find one is a mount that was sold by Brownells under the part number 100-000-319 it was quick detachable and did not require you to drill or tap your rifle it was simple to mount and install and you could quickly remove your scope by...

    Smith vs Taurus

Quality matters! I would take the Cadillac over the KIA, I mean Smith & Wesson over the Taurus any day.:neener: Saving money is one thing saving time frustration and grief is another go with the best and forget about the rest after all Smith & Wesson did invent both the platform and the...

    Since Pancho's thread is locked......

FWIW this is one of the better forums even with the few who don't always act high road from time to time on it that or the quick thread locks before all opinions can be expressed. Everyone can contribute or add or bring something to the table sometimes posts may teach or educate someone more...

What is the best way to deal with panhandlers?

For those who are in honest need an offer to buy a meal and maybe a couple bucks afterwards along with a few carefully chosen words. For those who are professional bums go back to the truck and bring back the help wanted section of the newspaper and offer it to them.

    "Good ol' boy"-style skeet shooting...

Nothing like a Trebuchet or old style catapult to lay siege to the castle or in this case bust a few melons. May not be a traditional firearm but they do launch many types of projectiles everything from rounded stones to dead animals and nowadays fruits vegetables and even old cars and pianos...

Please help identify another gun from my youth

Most of these have long ago been set aside as collectors pieces or family heirlooms for good reasons. The safety issue being the biggest one, parts availability being another. As a family heirloom it is an interesting piece but if you intend to shoot it please be very careful and I hope...

    Russian Made Winchester 1894

Nothing wrong with the quality of Russian firearms they build solid ones that work both civilian and military models. The wood may not always be fancy grade Walnut and the stock may not fit like a nice hand made custom rifle or shotgun but they do not build crappy guns just the opposite IMO...

Responsible yet sad moment at the gunshop today

This is something I have seen more than a few times, either an elderly person on his own brings a bundle of older guns into a shop and gets at best 50 cents on the dollar of what they are worth money wise. Many times it is a wife or the kids or grandkids that are there to "help" him sell off...

    44 mag self-defense round for 1894 carbine?

Federal Hi Shock 180 grain JHPs seem to do well as they are going over 2100 fps in most carbines. The 240 grainers tend to penetrate more from what I have seen that is great for hunting but not always the case for other purposes IMO.;)
