Positive experiences with Lee presses - No bashing!

Everyone has a favorite loader I suppose. I got a Lee Progressive loader some years back. Been long enough that I forgot when it was. Maybe ten years? Since buying it I have reloaded many, I mean MANY thousands of rounds. Mostly 9mm stuff....I shoot a lot of that in my pistols and four 9mm...

    Beretta PX4F vs. SW M&P

I have not shot the M&P but I have spent a few years with my PX4, which I like a lot. But, I also like my CZ75 P-01. Fact is, I have a hard time deciding which I like better. The PX4 has been a fine piece. 100% reliable. But, like any pistol, the gun has to FIT your hand and your eye. I have...

    when loading 223/556

That depends on the brand of primers. With the Wolf primers "Magnums" are the recommended ones. With other brands....??? There is a lot of confusion and misinformation out there about the "dangers" of using magnum primers. Its not a simple subject as the manufactures themselves are not clear on...

    204 vs 223 vs 22-250 vs 243

The 22-250 I have not had time with. However, I went though this same thought process many years back and decided on the .243. I love that caliber as it has a good range of bullets. It is hard on brass, however. I reload everything I shoot so this is something I consider. I used mine for ground...

    pro 1000 verdict

I read this thread with real interest. I picked up a Pro 1000 new many years ago. I have to confess I don't know how many years, but sometime in the 1990's. I read about how some hate it, some love it, some have figured it out and tolerate it. Well for me, I just use it. I have loaded so...

CCI vs Wolf: Small Pistol Primers

Nice test, thanks for sharing. With results like that one would have to reconsider any questions they had about the performance of Wolf primers. BTW, the ones you used, where were they made?

    Another Unique Question

If I compare the loads listed in my Lyman manual to ANY other source, Lyman is always, ALWAYS, way conservative. I think lawyers wrote the Lyman manual. Any more I will do some searching in my own four manuals, plus look on-line, and get several opinions before I commit to a new load. I NEVER...

    Re-loading issues with .223 v-max and varget

As some have pointed out, many .223 reloaders find Varget great with heavier bullets and other powders do well with the lighter ones. H-335 is a good example. This does not mean that Varget is BAD with lighter bullets, just that its advantages are noted more often with heavier ones.

    223 Problem

+1 I lightly crimp my AR loads as the semi-auto actions beat them around but for my two bolt guns I don't bother as it really isn't needed for them. Never an issue with either doing this.

Savage Edge .223 Rem. Likes ___ gn Bullet

.223 with a 1-9 twist...very common barrel in AR's. A lot of .223's built for varmints have 1-12 twists. The faster 1-12 is good for the lighter bullets, 40-55's. The 1-9 is considered best for the 55-62 gr. bullets but you can work a bit either way with this. A very good reference for...

    Lee Loadmaster

In Lee's book they mention you can send any Lee in after warranty and for half the price of a new one they will overhaul or replace it. Seems a cheap way to get a new press if you ask me. I have loaded many many thousands of rounds with my Lee. Can't say anything bad about them for the price.

fallow up on Berry's 115grn 9mm RN DS

I load plated Rainers by the thousands in 9mm. For me I stay "in the middle" on loading them. I just don't see any reason to push more powder in there to get 50 FPS more just to shoot at the range. The milder load is more accurate and is much easier on my firearm and me. That said I have...

    Help - Primer Removal

+1 What he says. I pitch them when they are that tight. But, I have plenty of brass to reload.

Using rifle primers in 9mm loads

In my Lyman 47th edition reloading manual the primer chart shows the Rem 6-1/2 as a "standard" primer and the Rem 7-1/7 is listed in the column for "magnum" primers. Since that book was printed Remington has now warned people about the 6-1/2 primer. I think Remington could have done more to...
