I have a Savage 10 PC with the threaded barrel and I'm very happy with it. I can easily shoot .75 MOA with it but I think it is capable of better. Very handy size too.

There are arguably better choices for a personal defense handgun but for the situation that the OP describes, the SP101 would be at the top of my list.

I think the SP101 is an excellent choice. There are so many loads available to suit most any situation, from mild .38 SPL up to Buffalo Bore 180gr .357 magnum.

You could have also asked him why stop at 6 rounds? That's way more than you need. For many years people carried single shot pistols and they got by okay. Weapons capable of more than a single shot lead to things like the Arizona attack...:rolleyes:
