Has anyone tried Triple 7 in handguns?

I am getting to like the 777 in my ROAs. I use a 25gr flask and .015 thin wad and a bullet sized to .454. Recoil not bad at all. Smoke factor is up there and I think more than Swiss or Goex. Good results with CAS as the wheelweight cast bullets ding on steel and spotters can actually hear the...

    die for cutting felt/paper wads

I have had some luck with a cheap Harbor Freight punch mounted in the chuck of my drill press. I like to make felt wads from old hats I buy at Goodwill stores. It works well with material on a pine board. Plus it gets those Blues Bros hats off the streets. The only time consuming effort...

Opps, I have a picture of ROAs on the other thread. Well, if they start a '51 thread, a 44-40 thread, a derringer thread, then I will just have to cover all bases. :)

I owe you a picture or two. One of my SS 5 1/2s" with Kirst installed and one of my blued 8" pair. Strictly utility as they see hard use.

Here is a picture of my 2 Pietta '58s. I took the bluing off to antique them and then treated the metal.

Shoot The Moon, that Euroarms is a really nice 58. Do they all have the trigger return like that? I think that is the first one I have observed. I have a pair of Pietta 58's blued, 8" barrels and some spare cylinders. I'll get a picture of them to post, but in the meantime, how about this one...

Yes, the Belt Mt pins are great but not for quick cylinder removals. Like you I never turn my screw to lock the cylinder pin. With a Belt Mt, I would need to. I found the spring on the end of the lever is enough and I have yet to have a lever drop on me. I like Belt Mt and use their pins in my...

That would be the ticket, since you have a Kirst. I would be surprised if the firing pin on the Kirst would be damaged by dry firing. It only takes a second to switch cylinders after all. That gives you the weight too, versus the no cylinder at all. However dryfiring one of my revolvers has...

I have shot those two Rowdy Yates Shilen barreled 12" buntlines. Filthy let me shoot them and I did with 5 rounds from each one. I was surprised that they were not muzzle heavy at all. Since I know Filthy and I know Rowdy, I have to tell you that there was much more invested in the pair...

ROA Bisley Hammers may become reality!!!!

+1 Not legal to shoot SASS sanctioned events is true. I know as a frontiersman myself, I would not like to see you show up with hammer modifications in my class, however you could shoot a couple other classes with a modified C&B revolver, just not frontiersman. It is not an unknown fact that...

My loading stand. Next to it you can see my 5 1/2 stainless ROA. Loading stand? What for? Ok, I will come clean. I shoot Cowboy Action Shooting with a pair of ROAs, a '73 rifle and a SXS shotgun. There is a class for the likes of me and it is called Frontiersman. It is one of the blackpowder...

Accuracy to what? 25yards? I like 30gr of 3F Goex a card wad and a Speer .457 ball and over the ball lube. Crisco works fine. Good accuracy to 25 yards.

    Gunsmith needed

Look up VTI gun parts. They carry a line of replacement parts for those. I am guessing you have an issue with the hand, probably not the bolt, since I have many spare cylinders and they all lock up tight and on time with a good hand. Sometimes you have to do a small amount of file work on the...

    newbie question

When I got started I got some books by Sam Fadala. I found them very good for starting out and loading and shooting BP was a breeze after reading them. You can probably find them on Amazon, if not in a gun shop.:)
