You have to have a piece of paper that says you took a pistol safety class. Its $60 at BGC. Put down target and hunting. Unless you have a really good reason to have one. Self defence isn't a good enough reason in their eyes. I have all my paper work filled out, ready to hand in to the pistol...

I really wish NYS was a shall issue state. I'm about to apply in Erie also and I expect to get my permit restricted. I'm just going to move when I finish school. Erie county is terrible.

I'm not really that surprised. Politicians in NY are really good at wasting money. Democrats and their "feel good laws".....

I'm just going to pick one of the states that has the lowest score and move there. NY has way too high of a rating. I need a single digit state.

I would check that. NYS permits are valid for life or until revoked.
