Should I lube before sizing these?

    Couldn't hurt!

    Coated bullets and revolvers

I have found that most cartridges with a cannelure can use a good (not excessive) roll crimp. I figure mine are about medium. It will secure the bullet from "creeping" with recoil. Plated bullets (I have no experience with coated) and cast bullets benefit from a roll crimp, or a taper crimp, if...

    Another disappointing die purchase

Wow! That's awful! Return it to Scheels, showing them a sample case! They have a great return policy. I'll bet they will replace or refund. Good luck! :)

    Lee's Factory Crimp Die?

I have had a Lee FCD for several years, and didn't find much use for it. Then the other day, I watched a video on Youtube by a fellow called Fortune Cookie 45 LC. It was eye-opening, to say the least. Once, an RCBS Tech told me that they consider a factory crimp as an "overcrimp" and should be...

    SHORT CARTRIDGE CASE QUESTION?????

Generally, a human hair measures about .003/inch. That much variation or more is not unusual in factory-new brass, so, in my never-humble opinion, it will make very little to no difference. :)

Trying to decide on only one bullet for 357

While I am leaning toward the 158-160 gr. LSWC or LRNFP, the RCBS SWC 38 150 gr. boolit was my go-to for years. Of course, I don't cast any more, and no commercial caster offers that number. That said, I have quite a supply of other projectiles of the 125 and135 Gold Dot persuasion that I have...

How Do I Use This Thing (FA Brass Tumbler)

The dry media tumblers work well. Some of us use a 50-50 mix of Corncob and Lizard bedding, boosted with some sort of polish. The 1/4 used dryer sheet gathers an amazing amount of dirt, but I've never used Mineral Spirits in the mix. YMMV, but, I load my tumbler about a loose 2/3 with media.

.38 Special-Reloads, or not? Western wadcutters.

This doesn't appear to be the case's first Rodeo, and I am not familiar with a Wadcutter factory load showing so much of the boolit. Your concern seems to be well-founded!

    Chamfering vs flaring/crimping for 9mm?

Proper adjustment, according to the instruction sheet included with all die sets may solve your problems. Die sets for handguns all have expanding/flaring dies. RCBS seems to have gone to an "M" style expander, as in 243Win XB's post. They sent me one for my .38/357 die set, and now my Lyman M...

    Chamfering vs flaring/crimping for 9mm?

Chamfering may or may not be "necessary", and is generally not needed except after trimming, to remove jagged edges, both internal and external, which can cut plated jacketing, and possibly cause chambering problems with rifles. YMMV :)

About as good as i can do i think

Looks very good to me. I presume the two rounds on the left edge were before you got it dialed in?

    .22 revolver?

Thinking of buying a .22 revolver for plinking, etc. Smith & Wesson, Ruger & Colt all have beautiful .22s, but...stratospheric prices! I'm thinking perhaps Taurus, Charter Arms, and maybe Rossi. Nobody around here ever seems to have used .22 revolvers, or any of the "better, cheaper" ones in...
