    AK47 or AR15

Back to my criticisms of AKs in 762x39. One of my pet peeves is the rainbow arc of 762x39. The point of aim (POA) and point of impact (POI) shift that you get means it is more difficult to hit small targets when you switch ranges. I find myself frequently using hold over and hold under sight...

    AK47 or AR15

Yes, it is. I also don't agree with your characterization of what constitutes an ad hominem, except for that last one, which you are correct. The mall ninja comment was a nice tongue in cheek touch, btw.. Just so you know I didn't mean to imply you had Dunning-Kruger skill. I believe some people...

    AK47 or AR15

I wasn't making a statement about him. If that is what you read, then I will clarify that it was never my intention to make any statement about him. No, that is not an ad hominem. It was rude, but it was more to question your line of reasoning which you are free to dispute the validity of. Ad...

    AK47 or AR15

No, it was wholly appropriate. I think you are reading too much into it. Thank you for using an ad hominem, really classy. I am implying things with my statements. If you aren't tracking then it is a fair criticism that I should be more forward in my statements. Despite having a less robust...

    AK47 or AR15

Heh heh. I am not an illiterate third world idiot. My ARs runs like champs. AKs do have a more forgiving operating system. The AR on the other hand outshoots my 762x39 AKs. 223 and 545 are a better comparison when comparing operating systems. As far as Dunning-Kruger goes, ask yourself if you...

The M1 Garand is still pretty reliable. Having a large cartridge requires a stiffer spring and the action hammers through most debris. The parts also hang free to give somewhere for the debris to get out of the way. The AK also hangs free, is overgassed, and has a lot of mass in the bolt carrier...

    Cecil the lion. The truth.

A lot of these anti-hunting folks forget that the human population is increasing. Animals in competition with people always lose, unless they are legally protected. Even with legal protection people that are in competition with animals will still put pressure on them indirectly. Unless animals...

S35VN now available from Cold Steel. I wasn't expecting that...

Cold Steel is not a manufacturer. They have other companies make all their products. Lynn Thompson reminds me of a ninja Chris Farley.

    AK47 or AR15

I have a few Croatian mags and they do fit in my SGL-21, WASR, VEPR, and Type 56 Norinco, but they are noticeably tighter to the point that they are difficult to insert and remove. I would pass on Croatian mags. The yugo military surplus mags on the other hand fit and function with none of those...

    AK47 or AR15

Interesting videos The south Korean mags are crap. The metal is thinner, welds are not as nice, and they rust easily. North Korean AK mags are good quality, but they are a collectors item and get collectors prices.

I would stay away from anything plastic or korean/asian. Anything steel from the Warsaw pact, Russia, and China...

    AK47 or AR15

I would get an AR. You can't beat the price and they are more consistent. AKs are fun, but I wouldn't recommend buying one at the moment. Besides ARs have better aftermarket parts.

    VEPRs banned?

I don't use gloves myself, but I certainly understand the thinking. If you aren't familiar with the design it is easy to cut or burn yourself. If you are reaching under to rack the charging handle with your left/support hand you need to use your index finger because using your thumb gets your...

Do the Ruger SR40 and SR9 have the same polymer frame?

Yes it is the same frame. It is cheaper to make one frame. If you look at the 9mm magazine they even make it the 40 width, but it has grooves pressed in the side which make "internal rails" to work with the narrower 9mm.

AK mags milsurp Polish or Yugo BHOs -- thoughts?

My 0.02$ The Yugo military surplus mags fit without modification. The Croatian mags look pretty but may require fitting and are tight to the point that they slow me down on reloads. Not a huge deal unless you do some kind of 3 gun.(most people don't run AKs anyway) Both mags are blued. The BHO...
