What is an "active" member? Someone who participates in promoting the NRA? Seems to me that a person is either a member or is not a member. A past or future member is not a member.

I though a Federal permit consisted of a piece of paper that said you were at least 18 years old?

Long time lurker, new member. I'm retired from the Navy, and am pro-2nd Amendment. I'm a long time NRA member with several handguns and a couple of rifles. Will post when I have something worthwhile to contribute.
