Browning BAR or Remington 7400 or ???

I have the BAR, Belgium made 30-06 setup with a Bushnell 3x9 scope. It has iron sights that I keep zeroed just in case. The Browning has pretty tight chamber tolerances that I found out reloading for it. But I figured out the deal and now reload for it with 165 gr BT. After some...

    .270 v. .30-06

Shooters, I had a 270 for many years and now have a 30-06. The 270 is a necked down 30-06 cartridge. I used to think it would shoot flater than a 30-06. In fact when you shoot a 270 with 130 gr BT vs a 30-06 with a 165 gr BT the 270 drops 6.5 inches at 300 yds and the 30-06 drops 7.9...

    Griz Attacks Girl Biker

Hit "submit reply" before thinking... I think this may be a case of posting before thinking. Hope the girl recovers. If it happened in California she would probalby sue the organizers. Mix bears and people and occasionally a bear gets fired up and attacks. It happens in Glacier Park...

    Clinton on the Supreme Court?

The only way I think either Clinton could get a Supreme Ct nomination through the Senate is if Dems pick up enough for 60 votes. That would be 57 plus Snowe, Hegel and the other RINO, Chaffee. As much as McCain irritates me with his global warming, amnesty, don't drill in ANWR hogwash - I...

    New-to-me CCW technique

Open Carry in VA is OK anywhere unless specified (like the gun-free student killing zone at VA Tech). CC is OK if you have a eprmit but you have to go to open carry in a place the sells booze. Makes no sense to me and we are fighting it in VA.

    357 Magnum vs 45 ACP

Depends I have a 45 Auto and two 357s. I prefer the 2 inch 357 for CC. I have a scope on the 8 inch Ruger for hunting. The 45 usually stays home unless I am going to shoot. But this is just me - this is a very personal thing, IMHO. I prefer the Ruger SP 101 revolver for my personal...

Pistol for the ladies but shotgun if I have time... Thanks for the poll. Always interesting to see the results. We keep a 357 in my wife's night stand and I have a 45 semi auto with a laser sight in mine. Shotgun is in the closet - but only for my use...and if I have time to get it in...

Exercising rights... First, I have been to this site (www.opencarry.org) before - but I found it informative. Thanks Prometheus for the info. A couple quick thoughts. During the cold war we used to go thru exercises of our US/UK rights under terms of the end of WWII. The Soviets...
