The Late Jim Barta's instructions for magazine adjsutment are for the later lip style magazines and are not related to the earlier finger style magazine. I have seen no equivalent guidance for the earlier finger magazines.
The Riot models were made from about 1961 through February 1977. There are a lot of stories on the net and should be disregarded unless you know and trust the source. Quality degradation was basically a lower level of polish and choice of stock wood.
