Greetings men. I had to buy a semifinished butt stock for a pump rifle and it is necessarilly a little large. What is the best way to whittle it down to the proper demensions? Thanks for any replies.

Cardboard Killer, It looks to me that it is just hanging down. There is a flat tension spring inside that you can increase the tension on take up the slack. Easy to do. Just take the rifle down with the take down screw and it will be obvious.

Can anyone offer a suggestion of how I might true up a otter mag. tube on a .22 pump. It's quite tight in a couple of places. Do you think a piece of dowel rod would work?

If it's from the 20''s it's not a 39A, but a 39. The 39 was made from 1922 to about 1938. A lot of people call a 39A a 39 but they are not the same rifle. James
recmodeler, no problem getting everything lined up. I've got the sleeve in. My problem is in getting the spring and rod in. I have not been able to overcome the spring tension and get the rod/spring in place. Thanks for your reply. James

First, it's probably too late for you. You have to let them know first thing that you are in charge. No if's, and's or but's.That way there need be no discussion. If you've even got a dog house you might as well go ahead and move in.
