This is correct. The worse possible outcome would be the round doesn't cook off. If it does cook all that will happen is the case will pop out in ways you cant imagine.
I had this happen on my 721. The extractor is a steel ring that is riveted in. They have a tendency to crack. The permanent fix is to have the bolt machined for a different extractor, i.e. M16 or Sako are both popular extractors to replace the 721 ring.
I am not sure of your personal goals but as long as I can hit a 6" target I feel my shooting is good enough. So here ya go.

I think this does not make sense. The mechanics of the auto sear are not that picky. Either the sear sets or not. Sounds as if it is not setting. Try a different carrier.
