    Shooting Video Games?

The Time Crisis series have provided a good take on the genre, because: 1. you use a gun with recoil 2. you've got a pedal that teaches you to get behind cover 3. you're forced to reload Police Trainer was also a similar, more realistic game but is pretty hard to find. Time Crisis 4 can be...

    An anti-gun 20/20 this friday

I missed the show, but did they happen to mention Jeanne Assam, who saved a church full of people in Colorado from an Active Shooter bent on killing a lot of people? I think her story is one of the best pro-concealed-carry cases. If 20/20 was at all balanced, they should have included her...

    Glock or XD

SHusky57: I've got 2 Glocks and was not impressed by an XD9 that I shot at a rental range that apparently was never cleaned and kept having double feeds and failure to ejects. That shouldn't be a problem if you're a good gun owner and clean/lube your guns. If you're that worried about an AD, I...

Umm... what? (1911 shooter tries firing a Glock)

Sounds like the trigger is new to you. My friend also has a Ruger .22 target pistol and it has a lighter trigger pull than my G19. I'd suggest dry firing the Glock 19 a lot to get used to the trigger. Press the trigger slowly to the rear until you feel more resistance. This is "prepping" the...

    Evil Rifle Prices

You saw a Kel-Tec Sub2000? I may have to take a trip up to Pennsylvania! LOL Seriously those are hard to find. My view is - if you have the firearms and ammo that you think you need, then stay put. If not, then you should get the minimum that you need while you can. Politically astute or...

Sure fire way to keep your AR from exploding...?

I've seen a few of these videos and they scare the crap outta me. Is the issue putting too much powder into the reloads? I guess that would result in too much pressure in the chamber - one of them blew out the mag even. Of course to balance it out, then I watch something like Shooting USA...

its tax season--you gun purchase deductable?

This never occurred to me. I'd like it to be deductible, but I'm not sure. I did find this old thread home defense gun tax deduction and an old article Are Security Costs Deductible?

    Minimum Comfortable Firearm Battery?

I agree with mr.trooper except not sure if you need the .22 - it is nice to practice with and the ammo is cheap. The only thing I'd add is I would add a backup gun for each of these plus spare parts. That way you're prepared if one has to be repaired and you can repair each one. So make that...

Is the gun rush slowing down?

I agree with gregj - it is not slowing down in the Northern Virginia area. Nationwide it is still hard to find AR-15s, magazines for them, or ammo.

    Unorthodox Gun Cleaning Methods

James Yeager of Tactical Response swears by non-chlorinated brake cleaner (cheaper version of gun scrubber) and then lubing with wheel-bearing grease. Basically shopping at the automotive store. Makes sense - haven't tried it yet but going to try it this weekend.

Sigh...I'm caving probably and getting a G26 - feel guilty

Your justification is that: a. you need a backup gun in case your primary gun breaks or is lost or stolen or you're just working on one b. you need a carry gun and a home defense gun c. you might want to carry both your primary and backup gun at the same time - police do this all the time The...

Chantilly gun show sit-rep (Friday night)

Great show report! I was thinking about going but didn't make it out. I guess you were looking to get a Glock 9mm? Maybe you can just go to Virginia Arms to get one. Its nice to hear they had ammo. It has been in low supply recently but yea the prices are still pretty high - supply & demand...

Concealed Carry-why do you do it?

Just like the Boy Scouts, I like to Be Prepared.

Do you prefer revolvers for one purpose and Semi's for another?

If you like revolvers, why not just stick with them? Or as Kind of Blued suggests, carry one of each. I never personally cared much for revolvers, but I do believe in carrying and practicing with what you like because you'll have more confidence in it and handle it better.

    Glock Carbine / PDW

Reminds me of an FN P90 with its bullpup design. I'd be interested in trying one of these out once they come out in the US. I hope Kel-Tec starts making some new Sub-2000s too as well since they take either G17 or G19 mags depending on the model.
