Ruger SR1911 Rock solid, good parts and affordable.

I just purchased my first 1911 after years of Sig, Glock and HKs. I think I'm going to like this platform. :)

She stole a Springfield Armory XD9SC and a Diamondback DB9

The review out of Gray Guns Inc hasn't been favorable due the the short recoil system.

For a single stack 9mm I picked a Sig P6 from Wideners for $379. A $25 parts kit from Top Gun Supply to swap out the recoil spring and the mainspring and you have a hell of a nice gun. Sig still makes replacement parts too.

Tear the slide down, clean everything and put it back together dry with the exception of a little grease on the spring end of the extractor. While you have it apart inspect everything thoroughly.

I have used a brass punch and hammer on all of my guns without problem. Including a Springfield XD which are notoriously hard to change.

I've had my DB9 for about a year. It had to go back to the factory as soon as I got it due to light strikes. I have about 250 rounds through it now and all of them have been trouble free.

Mine went back to DB for light strikes right after I got it but it has been 100% since getting back and 500 rounds.

The G10s on my P229 are very thin and grippy. One other thing about aluminum grips is they can scratch easily.

It's not a 1911 but an expansion on the SR line.

I hate the full height serrations and the long extractor Sig has gone to on the P229.

Sig customer service is top notch. I sent my P229 in to get the SRT installed and the slide bead blasted. They sent it back to me with a free SCT mag ($50 value) new night sights ($100 value) and the bead blasting done for free ($90 value). It took them a week longer than quoted because...
