    S&W - Walther PPK/S recall

The thread on The Firing Line shows no information, or movement yet, on the PPK models.

I want to support my local shop but......

I'm searching for a Bond Arms derringer. The local Gander Mountain has it right there, in stock, but $60 over MSRP, and about $100 over internet prices. But they have it. When you add in shipping, and some real exorbitant transfer fees, much internet savings is eaten up. Here's a hint. On...

    S&W - Walther PPK/S recall

Yes, can you believe it?!!! The PPK guys on another board are REALLY PO'd. After waiting a month after being told not to use it, for the shipping label to arrive, then another two months for the safety department to give the green light, then a couple of weeks of actual processing, only then...

    S&W - Walther PPK/S recall

Mine came tonight. Sent via 2-day UPS, but it arrived in one day. Same story as the rest of the guys. I feel a two-stage "step" in the safety now, I'm guessing first stage sets the safety, second stage drops the hammer.

Regarding Blacks, the NRA, and guns

HSO, no immediate plans. I did email the main speaker of the video. I grew up in Chicago, and know first-hand how anti-gun the place is. I also realize how Black America is reluctant to align with either the NRA or the JPFO. Maybe they could start their own group, after visiting both...

Regarding Blacks, the NRA, and guns

I started the now-locked thread about getting more black Americans in the NRA. I'm not trying to re-open that thread; many fine points were made. But on that very subject, the JPFO has just released a video about how gun control was from the onset, a racist idea, and how law-abiding blacks...

    Best 9mm Subcompact

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the CZ 2075 Rami. External hammer, one version w/manual safety like a 1911, one with a decocker, and one in poly. Great reviews from what I've seen, but very hard to find. Any opinions?

    Explaining Credit Card Concealed Carry

I sent an email to Fox News. Shep Smith had reported that because of the law, YOU can now carry a loaded weapon into the park. I told them this was not true unless YOU were one of the 5-10% CCL'ers in that state. Etc, etc. No response, even from Fox. The media plays it as if everyone can...

We need more Black gun owners in the NRA

As the OP, I think the way this board has veered just highlights the many complexities of black gun ownership, and for that matter, racial matters at large. None of us dispute this. There will always be opinions on both extremes of any bell curve. But like 2000Yards said, let's get back to...

We need more Black gun owners in the NRA

I would not expect Black people to stop voting Democrat. But they could be more vocal when say, in the city of Chicago, the issue of gun ownership or CC comes up. It would get the attention of the cameras, and show up on TV! BTW, it wasn't LaPierre who marched with MLK, it was Charlton Heston.

We need more Black gun owners in the NRA

Great point! I once knew that, but had forgotten it. Thanks.

We need more Black gun owners in the NRA

JohnKSa, your comments about what you've heard and seen are what I'm talking about. There is a "good ole boy" mentality, and blacks have some very understandable apprehensions. But it seems to me they can, with our support, overcome this last obstacle to their American freedom. If they just...

We need more Black gun owners in the NRA

My son just got back from the NRA convention in Phoenix. I asked him how many of the 6000 people at the banquet were black? He said, "two speakers, plus about 20 in the audience." As I think about this, let us not forget the RKBA is a CIVIL right! Where is the NAACP or the ACLU on this...

Is the General Social Attitude Toward Guns Changing?

With millions of new guns sold, and ammo as scarce as hen's teeth, there are a lot of first-time gun owners out there. Many have joined, and the rest should be encouraged to join the NRA. For the first time in 20 years, middle America is THINKING about guns. Some will pull to the left, but a...

    .380Popularity and general ammo woes

Winchester FMJ, 500 rds, $179. From the box I can tell it left Winchester on April 24th, was received by Midway on May 4th. I got an email that SAME day from them, and received it on the 6th. Hats off to Midway. I also heard the local Gander Mtn got some in today, and were selling it for...
