    Wilson and Baer

Baer & Wilson Absolutely nothing I've owned (including several model Les Baer's and one Wilson 1911) was superior to the Les Baer Monolith Heavy in any respect. The Les Baer pistols I've owned were all good pistols as were the other Customs. However, the Mono Heavy was a GREAT pistol. Not...

Who has a Sig P226? Get in here

226 The Sig 226 MK25 is a very good pistol. One of the best I've owned. I should not have traded mine off. The SEALS know a good product and it's worth the money. Identify them by the engraved "anchor".

    Kel-Tec PMR-30 - Opinions?

Pmr30 I've owned 3 PMR30's. The first one did jam on occasion. The next two were perfect. I still have one. I mounted a Burris Fast Fire II. It is fun to shoot, very accurate, very reliable, good trigger, weighs almost nothing and has high mag capacity. It has never jammed or misfired in...

What manufacturers make pistols without MIM parts

MIM I've owned a lot of firearms. I've also fired them quite a bit. Personally, I've never had a MIM part fail. I give no thought at all about MIM parts being in arms I purchase. Just my experience and yours may vary.

CZ Polymer Pistols (P07/P09) vs. steel/alloy CZs

In my opinion the P07 Duty is a very solid pistol in every respect. I think it would be quite hard to find a better polymer pistol. The P07 pistols are selling for a bargain price at Virginia Gun Shows. The trigger alone is probably worth the pistol price. It has the best trigger I've found...

    9mm 124g versus 147g penetration through materials

Penetration I went to "Box Of Truth" and the site is now huge. I found penetration of rifle & pistol ammo into dry phone books. You can read that test here: http://www.theboxotruth.com/the-box-o-truth-31-the-books-o-truth/ Seems the 9mm ball penetrated 7 inches. Many pistols penetrate as...

    9mm 124g versus 147g penetration through materials

Penetration I won't attempt to answer the post as it would be from an untrustworthy aged memory. However I will direct you to a site. I think the web site "Box Of Truth" did penetration test with several different calibers of pistols and rifles. I remember being absolutely astounded by...

Aging Eyes, Open Sights and Target shooting with a pistol..

Sights I know the OP was asking about sights for aged vision and I don't wish to change the topic. But will pass my experience along. I'm 64 and nothing has worked as well as the new generations of micro red dot sights. Trijicon, Buris Fastfire, Leupold Delta Point, J-Point Micro Red Dot. All...

Most accurate 9mm for under $1000

Accuracy Shooter, sights and trigger are MOST of the aspects of accuracy. I have 3 greatly varied pistols with Trijicon, Burris, and J-Point. All three have micro red dot sights. The pistols are a FN Tactical .45, M&P PRO CORE 9mm, and a Keltec PMR30 22mag. All three are pretty much "one hole"...

    CZ P-07 Experiences

CZ The P-07 Duty is a remarkable pistol that is quite inexpensive. Very near the top of the plastic pistol segment. I have much more expensive pistols that are not "better" in any respect (if the longevity is there. But who can afford enough ammo to ever know? (grin). The trigger on the P-07 is...

    FNX-45 Tactical

FN I have a FNP Tactical with the RMR Trijicon micro red dot. The older version of the FNX. It is probably the best all round pistol I've owned (and yes I've owned the H&K Tactical). The only negative is the size. If I "open" carried, or used a drop leg holster, I would carry it. But I do not...

    What is the best 1911

1911 Pistols I've had several Springfields, including the Professional. I've had a Wilson, & several Les Baers. I've had several Colts. I've had several S&W, Kimbers, Paras, etc. A few full custom 1911's ie Rogers, Yost, Ten X, Cyl. & Slide, and several more I can't think of at the moment. All...

    ATI Commander

I have one that had a feeding problem. They sent me a label for return. I expected a ramp polish and maybe a new mag. In 3 weeks I received the pistol back WITH A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF CUSTOM GUN SMITH WORK. The polished the chamber, polished the feed ramp, throated the barrel, installed...
