Anything by Kahr Arms. I don't know about their quality, but I do know they were founded by Kook Jin Moon. This guy is the son of that other Korean Moon who thinks he's the second coming of Christ. Whatever.

I think carrying with a unchambered round puts yourself at a serious disadvantage in a pressure situation. When I carry my 1911, it's with the hammer back and ready to roll. Responsible holstering is a must with most firearms. Finger on the trigger when you want to fire, otherwise don't do it.
Unfortunately, common sense can't be taught. I think you should take these classes on your own and enjoy this freedom yourself. Like seat belt laws and firework regulation, reckless people threaten all our rights in the eyes of legislators.
I have a CPL from Michigan which is a pretty liberal state in my opinion. I give it a C letter grade. I've carried from east coast to west coast closely following reciprocity laws. New York, Illinois, and California are states I usually try to avoid.
Both of these manufactures are top notch in my opinion. I own revolvers from both. I carry a Ruger SP101 chambered in .357 daily. The extra weight is minimal compared to the Smith snubs. It handles the recoil better in my opinion. As long as it's American, I'm all for it.
