    Cannot hunt on Sundays?!?

Perhaps if a group of Jews joined together to abolish hunting on THEIR Sabbath, the legislators would see the hypocracy of their Blue Laws. A prosperous Jewish merchant did that back in the late sixties in Elmira, New York, that is, closed his large and dynamic department store on Saturday...

    Good pawnshop finds?

My last buy was a Ruger Security SIx 3" for $325...and it appears unfired! I recently visited several of my favorite shops looking for a 12ga for a friend. I found several nice "hunter" pumps for under $200, including a New England 3 1/2" pump for only $180. I wish I was in the market for...

Have any of you guys bought one of these?

I saw a father and son team with one a few weeks ago in a Pompano shooting range. Dad said he had just purchased it that afternoon. Dad let Junior grab at the rifle while it was loaded. I told the boy not to touch a loaded gun that in another's hands and to obey his father, told Dad the 4...

    C&R Application Turnaround

I've had a C&R for ten years or so. I got the CD-ROM this year. I have used a bound-and-sewn essay book by Mead, available at any school supply store. I also use this as a folder for all the receipts and bill-of-sale associated with C&R AND personal firearms. Works for me!

    "Battlefield pickup"

The first time I ever handled a benelli shotgun was when I found one on the trail last spring. I was able to safe and unload it. When I showed it to a friend at the campfire that evening, we learned it was his!

Internet Scouting For Spring Turkeys - Help!

I use the roosting technique, too, but I try not to use turkey calls unless I'm set up and ready to shoot. Turkeys are smart birds, and are easily "educated" to false. human-made sounds. You'll train them to avoid you if you over-call!

    Critter Watching

I looked out my back window, and admired a large red tailed hawk in a dead tree about 80-100 yards out. When the HUGE bird took flight towards my house, I got scared for my mini Dachshound, and ran outside to hopefully grab the dog before the hawk did. But the bird landed about ten yards...

Ever thrown a bullet in a campfire?

"no, but judging by the way this guy lights his fires, i bet he has" I figured there would be some beer in that video! On a hunting trip once, I always put my snack wrapper trash in my pocket, then emptied it all into the wood burnining stove back at the cabin in the evening. One evening...
