Repurposing non gun stuff as gun stuff

I still use a cheap plastic colander and a 5gal bucket to separate media from brass. I use plastic coffee cans for holding small quantities of brass, large quantities are kept in 2.5gal water containers (the ones you buy with little spouts on them) that I cut a hole in and dry out when they are...

What Small Arms are Sub Crews Issued

Typically cruisers or destroyers, sometimes aircraft carriers or gator freighters. That was early to mid/late 90s... from what I hear, not much has changed in the last 20yrs.

    Price of Pmags

I paid $16 for one today at a local retailer. It was the last one they had in stock.

Anyone seen one of these Mossberg 500 12 ga HD shotguns?

Close. I know it varies some, but I personally used a 590A1 on boardings. Didn't see a pic in the OP, but here is one of my regular Mossy 500s. Came with regular stock & pistol grip. Good little shotgun, not quite a 590, but close enough.

    Ruger Survey

2 of my suggestions were to do a mini and a bolt action in 6.8 with the proper chamber/rifling this time rather than using the outdated versions from when the 6.8 first came on the scene.

Something that's both delicious, and useful!

I use plastic coffee cans for brass that I don't have a huge amount of (.308, 6.8, .38S, 10mm, etc). I use the 2.5 gal water jugs (just cut a hole in the spigot side & then set it with that side on top) for just about everything else. They can hold 2000 .45acp casings, in case you were wondering.

    what's a good short-action AR-15 caliber for white tails?

I deer hunt with a 6.8 upper...16in, midlength gas, ARP barrel, Troy VTAC handguard, 3-9x50 scope on a quick mount with Magpul BUIS.

    Guns for Competitive Shooting

For USPSA Production & Limited divisions, I use a XDm 5.25 in .40s&w. My wife uses the same pistol in 9mm for Production division. My old Production gun was a CZ75 SP01 in 9mm.

Is the .38 Super worth it?

I have a .38S, it's a nice pistol, good round when handloaded. When I go into the woods, I take a .45 loaded with +p 230gr HPs. That is a stop gap until I find either the right 10mm, .44, or .454 for me. In your case, I'd take the .357M.

    40 S&W 180 gr fmj w/n320 data?

Most of the loads I have logged down are in the range of 5.0 with a max of 5.3gr. But the OALs are a bit longer at 1.15-1.17in. The loads are from an IPSC/USPSA list of "pet loads" for competition pistols. The loads on it for N320 are in the 940-990fps range. As usual, use the data at your own...

    top 25 9mm's

    Because they said top 25 and not top 50? :p ;) :D

    Why Glock over an XDM?

Maybe you would be able to cause a round to fire, but if (in your example) you were shot in both hands and could not grasp the grip (it does not require squeezing a XD/XDm to disengage the grip safety), then you will not be able to aim, point, or shoot effectively. So the point is moot. Can we...

Gun Owners, Democrats or Republicans or?

I'm neither Republicrat or Demican. I'm not a Libertarian, Greener, Socialist, etc. I AM an American. I AM a Veteran. I AM a free thinker. I associate with no political party, because IMO they are all corrupt. Sadly, we are forced into a choice between the lesser of two evils most times...

    Why Glock over an XDM?

My $0.02, take it as you will... I've owned Glocks & shot them well. Owned, past tense. I've owned XDs & shot them well. Owned, past tense. I own & daily carry a M&P45C. I just bought & am competing (USPSA Production & Limited divisions) with a XDm 5.25 in .40 For ME, the ergos on the...

    Why Glock over an XDM?

By that logic, the HK should be chosen, seeing as they did it first. ;)
