I got the answer from my sons AR. It has the same ridge and does NOT interfere with the gas tube. I suspected it was normal on all of their handguards but wanted to be sure before selling.
Yes, Bear Creek. Thanks.
I called BCA to ask if the rimfire handguard was the same as the centerfire and she said "I don't know"....LOL! Well ok then....sheesh
The handguard on my 22WMR has a ridge that runs on the underside of the picatinny rail (12 o'clock inside the handguard) and I'm not...
I want something shorter than the standard 15" handguard BCA puts on nearly all of their AR's. What brands are compatible with BCA? Doesn't need to be anything special other than M-Lok and not so dang pricey like a new BCA guard ($100+). I'm looking for a simple switch over as in remove 8 screws...
Y-T71, that's exactly what I'm looking for and good advise on working up loads! My bottles of powder are about that age also but were well stored and have worked well in 9mm and 357. Listen up nay sayers...... In the 90's #5 was used for everything under the pistol/revolver Sun. Back then there...
I'm not looking for max velocity but I have #5 on hand and would like to work up a warm (but safe) load with it in my single shot magnum. I'm having a hard time finding loads online or in my books. I have H110 and Lil' Gun on hand also but I don't want thunderboomer loads. What ya'll got?
I've always sorted but I wonder if it's worth it from a hunting pistol/revolver standpoint. What about pistol caliber carbines/single shots with a little longer range? Any accuracy advantage realized?
My AR10 does not like to fully eject brass. It hates IMI FMJ ammo but does MUCH better with my handloads but even with the handloads I had to clear the fired case of the last round of the magazine. The shell casing would just be laying on top of the mag follower with the bolt locked back as it...
I'm trying to create a larger than normal gap between scope rings on an AR rifle for a night vision scopes bulky electronics. Can I turn 2 piece cantilever (or any rings for that matter) in opposite directions without alignment issues? By opposite I mean the ring to base mounting screws would...
Thanks guys! I should add the powder will primarily go under a flat nose lead bullet from Rim Rock but I do have some JHP's on the bench that will get used also I'm sure.
I think what the OP was asking was about what makes premium ammo better. We all know it is usually in just about any rifle but WHY is it better? More QC of the bullet? Different alloy? Different powders or better blended powders than cheap stuff? Stronger priming compound or just MORE of the...
I want to load up some mid range loads for my 4" revolver as a close range Deer gun for those occasions when a big doe walks out under my stand that I can also comfortably enjoy as a range load. I'm looking for about 1000-1100 FPS from a 158 grain bullet. Ya'll have any suggestions on a powder...
