    Checking an old Winchester 94

Exterior is not bad at all. It being 30wcf smokeless round, I'm sure bore is decent. Even if bore is not perfect, 30wcf is still plenty accurate. If it were 32 special different matter. 32 special is black powder round, good chance of pitted bore and 32 accuracy suffers greatly from worn bore...

Hi, my name is JD and I'm an alcoholic

34 years here, still one day at a time is key. Good luck to you. Ya, black powder, have to admit I'm powerless. (Or is it I'm powerless over smokeless?).

    Winchester Model 50 20 Gauge

What is your impression of model 50? I bought one in 12 gauge few years ago, and is well made with machined steel parts. It operates beautifully and is fun shooting clay games with it. Don't ever see 20 gauge models around.

    Anyone still shoot an 1897?

Love the 97. I have one made in about 1929. Also have model 12 owned by my grandpa , cherish those masterpieces that they are. Shot many crows with 97. Ouch! Many a thumb nail torn and bleeding from that breech bolt. Happy Hunting.

    Black Powder Books

Good selections here. I like any shooting books by Sam Fadala. I enjoy the Ned Roberts book. My favorite is the Muzzleloading Hunter, written by Rick Hacker.
