Start looking for the Ruger SR1911 for apx $800.00 Bucks or less if you can find one. Buy it you will not regret it at all. I didn't. Love it more than my S& W 1911.As I would never carry any SS gun for CC & SD but after getting that Ruger in my hands, I changed my mind fast enough.
Ruger vs Rem 1911's
The Rem looks more like a GI series gun, than the SR1911 the Rem does not have a Bevertail + some of the extra's that come with the Ruger, Like a SS finish match trigger etc. I elected the SR191 for my decision. Now that's just me. :cool:
Longhair did you have any problems with the 7 or the 8 round mags that came with your gun, At all.? I bought a couple of Trips 7 rd cobra mags to use as my EDC with my SR1911 gun.

I field stripped my new 1911, & cleaned it with EEZOX as their web site suggested. Let it dry on over night, Then wiped it down & re applied a light coat on all of the parts. and on the Slide & barrel lug's I applied some of Brian Eno's Slide -Guide right...
I own & have carried a Beretta 92 SB which is no longer made with the round trigger guard,It holds a 16 round magazine.? I have carried this gun for the last 25 + yrs while working in the personnel security business in NYC before retiring.? & It has served me well, Very dependable etc.?
A Beretta 92 in either 9MM or 40.cal with a 15 shot magazine period.? I carried this gun for 25 yrs while working in NYC in the Private Security Industry.? Mine was a 9MM as the 40.cal was not around back in the day.?
