    Blue Ridge Parkway

If I understand it, what can be done by Executive Order by one President can just as easily be undone by the next one. Look for this rule to be changed back shortly after Jan. 20.

    Midnight Regs.

As I understand it, even if National Park carry is allowed, all it would take is an Executive Order from the new President to return to the old way. There's no reason to believe he wouldn't do just that.

    Who's gonna do it?

I've said it before...I fully expect another AWB, this time with confiscation of all or most semi-auto rifles and shotguns. As to who will do it...yes, the police and the military will dutifully follow orders and come knocking on your door. And we will let them do it. When a half dozen SWAT...

They just ran a story on fox that said gun purchases up

Much as I would like to buy more guns, the possibility of another Assault Weapons Ban, this time with a provision for the confiscation of ARs. AKs, Mini14s, and most other semi-auto rifles and shotguns scares me. If the predictions of a Democratic party Congress and very liberal, anti gun...

? about guns on a roadtrip across America

Unfortunately, that's what I do when we travel. If I pay attention to what's going on around me and stay away from known "bad areas", the odds are far better my gun will get me in trouble with local authorities that help me. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to at least take a gun...

    Legality of Trigger Jobs

Going back to the OP, for whatever it's worth, I have gone the other way with my carry guns. I have NY-1 trigger springs in all my Glocks. Under as close as I can get to real world training and IDPA matches, I see absolutely no difference in accuracy between the stock 5.5 pound trigger and the...

    Question re: Potential ban

Here's some info on a bill presently in the PA legislature. Most fell it doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Iran if passing, but it's the sort of thing you can expect to see in other states and even at the federal level. I contains, in part,: More info at...

    Legality of Trigger Jobs

After the trial some members of the jury were interviewed for TV. I don't remember the program, but I will never forget a lady from the jury saying that the fact that Mr. Fish had such a powerful gun was a major factor in the guilty verdict. Granted, his lawyer should have been able to counter...

PA gun owners pay attention, article from Pgh. P-G, and poster's comments

Politically, that's about right. I really don't believe that goes for "we the people", however. The politicos in Philadelphia, at least, appear to be very anti-gun and are forever introducing legislation that never even make it out of committee.

Should LEO's Have A Passing Familiarity With Laws?

No one can reasonably be expected to know all the laws all the time. After all, lawyers and judges make a living trying to figure it out. That said, there should be some mechanism in place whereby a LEO can access someone who IS knowledgeable in the law when something like the situation...

How good do my finger prints have to be?

When I got my Florida permit, I sent them what looked to me like a good set of prints (also taken at a gun show...this should tell us something). After about 2 months I got another fingerprint card in the mail with a letter telling me the FBI rejected the card as unreadable. I had to have new...

Connecticut Anti-Gun Push Returning for 2008!

That's the point, isn't it??? The anti gun folks know full well micro-stamping won't help track anything. It's an end run to make guns so expensive the either no one can afford them or manufacturers just give up on trying to operate in that state. We ave a micro-stamping type bill in PA right...

Should a CCWer have a lawyer to call before s/he starts to carry, just in case?

My solution is to have my general practice attorney on speed dial...both home and office. If I ever need the services of a self defence lawyer, my guy and act in my behalf at first (during which time I keep my mouth tightly shut) and can help me find a lawyer who is familiar with the courts...

    Pa Home rule

It's also been my experience that about 50% of the PA state police is anti-gun and about 85% of the college students are at least fence sitters with a few maybe 5-10% who vehemently anti-gun, I may just be paranoid but it seems like this state is on the downward slope It has been my observation...

    Getting Guliani's attention

Politically, the cream no longer rises to the top. Maybe there just isn't any cream left. Regardless of who wins in '08 the very best we can hope for is no further loss of our rights. Sooner or later we will go the way of England. The best I can hope for is that I won't live to see it...
