In my experience, the ring around the opening of the primer pocket says crimped. I swag/uniform all of my brass at least once upon getting it. I use the Hornady primer pocket uni-former either by hand or in my "tired" cordless drill and go slow. I haven't messed up any primer pockets yet.

My dad gave me a new one for my 30.06, he was smiling. He knew someday I would buy a case trimmer, but that trim die works great and I have a file only for that purpose. I still use it!

I have the Wheeler Engineering larger screwdriver set. has tons of sizes and special bits. I use the Grace punches, not bad. I have the W.E. roll punch/roll punch starter sets and the inch pound screwdriver to mount scopes and such.

From what I am told, those drum threads get filled up with carbon and very difficult to remove. Just like the nipples, only hand tighten as those threads get filled up and difficult to remove. I would block off the hole for the nipple and fill with an oil, PB Blaster etc. overnight....

They are stiff for a few, I don't use the slide stop to release, a good pull back on it is how we are trained. The slide stop is used just for stopping the slide and not to be used to release it or it wears out faster. I put the gun in the web of my hand and give a pull back fingers pointed at...

I have the Shield .40 and I love it. It took a few to break in, but flawless after that. The wife has an XDs 9mm and she likes it. These little pistols are great. Thanks for the write up!

Our off duty .380's some of us use are the CorBon, just over 1K fps out of the barrel in the S&W Bodyguard.

What I used, shoots out of my XDs 9mm wonderfully. Some say it's dirty, but I clean my gun after every shoot.

does it happen to be a 311A? those were color cased hardened, some sort of alloy from regular 311's.....

I use Hoppes #9 to clean and Hoppes Copper remover and lube up with Miltec. Works for me, one bottle has lasted me a long time....
