Sold my G36 because it stovepiped on me too often. It is a common problem with the gun that most attribute to limp wristing. Despite the fact that it was probably more my grip than the gun I sold it. The friend that I sold it too is bigger than me and never had any problems. Ultimately, it...
Best statement I've heard all day! Everyone wants to bash Para and praise Kimber. Not to say that Kimber doesn't make a good pistol but why does Para get picked on so much. I bought my CCW on an impulse because of the LDA on an 1911 platform. Plus it's stainless which I think is damn cool...
Get the Compact G19. Full size pistols have longer barrels increasing accuracy and power but not enough to make a difference. I think compact pistols get more use overall.
Love my .45 but have to admit I recently bought a 9mm so I could actually afford the ammo to go to the range. I don't particularly care for the .40sw round.
Mine shoots pretty much to point of aim. However, the .357 loads are friggin' miserable! Well, not that bad but have decided that the bit of extra power doesn't out weigh the decrease in control and fun.
I want to clarify that my question about the use of deadly force was not one of whether it was appropriate in the instance that occurred, but rather extending what occurred into a more philosophical realm. In other words, the guy did not have a gun and I recognized that and therefore the use of...
Ben. You win the gold star for being most observant! I didn't even look at the date. I picked the thread up by looking at recent postings! I kind of have to agree putting the thought into it 4 years later doesn't seem worth my while.
Haven't had the chance to shoot my P239 9mm yet so can't add too much.
I like the fact that the receiver is metal (alloy) rather than plastic
I like the night sights
I like the DAK trigger pull it's smooth and has a good feel to it
I like the Double Strike Capability
I like the width and size...
I'm with Storm. The Mernickle is a good holster. Just got one for my little Bearcat and it's well made, comfortable to wear, and will conceal easy if you need/want it to.
Eh, I wouldn't mess with the springs. I've got to admit my SP101 does have a relatively stiff trigger and I can't recall noticing much of a change over the last couple years. My school of thought is practice makes perfect. All guns feel slightly different and with a bit of repetition you'll...
I've fought buying a 9mm for several years now because I'm one of the guys who feels the .45 ACP is where it's at, especially for self defense. However, I recently purchase a Sig P239 9mm because of the fact that other than .22LR the 9mm is exactly as you said, the cheapest round you can buy...
If your concerned about money buy the Taurus they are solid reliable weapons with a good warranty. If you can spare the extra bucks buy the Smith.
However, I have to ask. What are you shooting with a 44 magnum? Maybe it's because my .357 experience is with my SP101 with a 2.25" barrel but...
I'm sure both of these answers have been given. 1. Have him call Ruger and speak to them directly. 2. The owners manual should say it. He can get it online, or request one from Ruger.
Regardless, he should request an owners manual just to have one. Also, the Blackhawk is a cool...
If you have a minute please read the story below and respond as to how to appropriately handle the situation. I am a VA resident and am especially interested to hear what you LEO's that lurk these forums think/advise. This is not a philosophical debate it occurred earlier this afternoon...
