What one single firearm would you choose as a gift?

An M1 carbine. Had a chance to get one for $100 at Andrews Sporting Goods. It was either food for the family or the gun.

Regal Cinemas Now Checking Bags and Backpacks

I believe it is in response to the 3 or 4 boys that snuck a leaf blower in in pieces and assembled it. Then at the right moment in one of the new movies involving a chain saw the fired the thing up and panicked the theater. A logical response considering the circumstance. It was probably a...

When Do I Enjoy Calling Customer Service? When I'm Calling RCBS!

After I sent in my 30 year old beam scale(would not hold zero) CS sent me back a brand new beam scale. They said they could not get it to hold zero either. Great company.

    Mini-14

My model "181" cost me $139 new when I bought it. I put a 3 x 9 scope on it. It has done its job well taking out squirrels and rabbits on my uncles ranch. My uncle and his ranch are gone and I still have the Mini. It has never failed to do its job. Provide entertainment and stress relief. To...

    Rifle/handgun pairs?

My first handgun was a Python. I wanted a rifle in that caliber so i got the Marlin. Then I wanted a semi-auto and I was able to pick up a Coonan. I load for the Coonan so I don't need to sort them. I am happy now.

    coonan 357 mag

I love mine with the 6" barrel. Feels great, shoots better than I can. Others better than I shoot it very accurately. I need more time with it. Hope to solve that issue when I retire.

    Ruger Mini-14 223 or 5.56

I bought a Model 181 new for $136 from Andrews Sporting Goods, City of Tustin. The heel is marked Cal. 223. It shoots as well as it did new and has never failed to take squirrels or rabbits (scope) at 50 to 75 yards.

    Shot a Coonan .357 today

The gun itself does not prevent rim lock but the person loading the magazine does. I have a newer Classic with the 6" barrel and it is(as some have said) a hoot to shoot. My friend has a S + W 45 and when he shot it he said it feels very much the same as his. There are some differences between...

What is the last gun that you bought?

Coonan Classic. That is the last I saw of before it fell overboard with all the rest of my guns.

    Bench surface finish question?

I cover the 2 x 6 top with 6 inch wide click type laminate. Lay it like you would the floor and cut to size. It is water resistant, hard and does not have any grooves to let dirt and small things get stuck in it. I use it on my radial arm saw top also.

    M1 Garand - Questions/Concerns

I have one. I did not purchase from CMP. That being said when you get the rifle the best advice I was given was field strip the entire rifle. Especially the bolt and clean the firing pin. Then oil/grease the proper wear points. A dirty sticking firing pin can cause a slam fire. Also unless you...

    Marlin 1894C .357 mag

I have owned one for about 27 years. Standard pistol loads in 38 and 357 shoot great. You can reload a bit hotter if you want but don't mix them up with the pistol rounds. Hope this helps.
