    Good Browning Hi-Power clone.

Israel made a BHP clone called the "Kareen" using parts from FEG in Hungary, finished and assembled in Israel. The Kareen Mk.1 is an almost exact clone of a "Type-73" Hi-Power with the extended barrel bushing. I bought one in "Fair" condition from Bud's Gun Shop for $302 out-the-door, and while...

    C308 CETME interest

Magpul doesn't make a PMAG magazine compatible with the G3; they make a magazine for .308-cailber AR rifles with Knight's Armament SR25-pattern magazine wells. The only company I can think of currently selling polymer G3 magazines in the US is Thermold.

    Any BRNO fans out there?

I've got a real old-school Brno rifle; a Model 98/22 Mauser rifle in 7.92x57mm. Made in 1923 for the Czechoslovak Army, it was built on a production line purchased from Mauser Werke in Oberndorf, and has many parts that are Imperial German-marked which were purchased at the same time. The rifle...

    Mauser Identification

It's a scrubbed Polish Model 1929 short rifle (Wz.29). These scrubbed rifles were sent to the Republican government of Spain during the Spanish Civil War. The "Circle-Z" mark was also used by Poland.

    My G3A3 Battle Rifle

For that price you should get a couple magazines free with each pouch. Aluminum here. I have the same web gear for my 91GI; also got a South African Pattern 83 chest rig, which is also compatible with G3 mags.

    My G3A3 Battle Rifle

A very nice-looking rifle; I'm glad you're happy with it. Is the rifle's metal finish black paint or just parkerized? It's hard to tell from the pic. That ZQI-MKE M80 is great shooting stuff for the current price.

Mitchell Mauser M63 tanker in .243

Crvena Zastava did produce a copy of the FN-Herstal M30 Police carbine; as far as I know the only confirmed customer was the Indonesian National Police.

    PTR-91 Questions

If it isn't broken, don't fix it. What I'd really like to know is what engineer at CEAM or CETME reversed the direction of the button release. On the CETME/G3's progenitor, the Stg.45(M), the button was on the left side to be pressed by the thumb of the hand removing the magazine, just like on...

Mitchell Mauser M63 tanker in .243

I would certainly buy one if I didn't have to pay my money to Don Mitchell. I'm not sure Zastava is even making these rifles anymore, so they're unlikely to come in via a different, more reputable importer. Frankly I love the concept of a Police Carbine in a little caliber like .243.

    PTR-91 Questions

Good deal; I've shot 140 rounds of ZQI/MKE M80 in mine and I think it likes it; my best group (with irons) was 2.75" with a flier, or 1.625" without. Every time I go to Wal-Mart I pick up a few more boxes on clearance. It also likes Silver Bear 145gr FMJ .308.

    PTR-91 Questions

Your 91 GI's trigger pack will probably be all reconditioned surplus parts (at least mine is, according to PTR), so it should drop in just fine. However, neither of those steel lowers will mount on your rifle without modification. These both require the push-pin through the rear of the magazine...

    PTR-91 vs M1A?

I think my PTR-91GI was worth the $900 it cost me. I have shot groups of 2.5MOA and possibly better with the iron sights: I had one group that was 1.625", but a flier brought it out to 2.75". I think it's capable of better with a more experienced shooter or a low-magnification optic -or I could...

Looking for something unique in .308

I paid $909 for mine just a couple months ago. A bit out of OP's budget, but I can't resist showing it off. Very fun to shoot. I have seen a couple older Century CETME and a C91 rifles at a local shop for $600 or less. The Spanish FR8 carbines are really handy and neat. I shot one and now I...
