    I stand corrected it was Gorilla grease not Monkey grease. I took your advise and ordered a nipple wrench from Dixie gun works, it arrived a couple of days ago.     Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Looking for a QUALITY nipple wrench for Pietta 1860 and 1851 cylinders. The last 4 I purchased were junk and brokem during nipple removal. The nipples have been removed on prior cleanings and replaced using monkey grease. thanks

    wonder wads

    Wonder Wad between 22 gr. 3 F and .454. R.B. (no Filler) works great. Using lube over the ball gets a little messy, but both methods work.

    Thanks for all the great info. I took an extra cylinder I had for my 1860 Pietta (blued one) and it fits and works perfect in the 1851. I load approx. 22 gr. of Schutzen 3 f with a .454 R B. I knock down 6" steel plates at 8 yds. with no problems.
