    Reloading in the garage

After suffering the long hot season in SC, storing dies inside I finally had a mini split put in. Nice and cool, cheap to run and no more humidity.

    Triple 7 over American Pioneer

APP residue cleanup is easy with Windex with vinegar. It just instantly melts away then a quick shot with Ballistol and all done. Also just found that after shooting 160 rounds of black powder through my Uberti 1873 in 44-40 over three days if you run ten rounds of APP through it, it actually...

    Black powder/substitutes- school me?

Did not see anything about APP American Pioneer Powder. I shoot cowboy action and shoot thousands of 45 colt, 44-40, 45-70 and 38-55 during the year. It is expensive but for me it is great for multi day shoots as I do not have to clean my pistols or rifles during matches or between days. In fact...

Looks good. Doesn't matter. The trick is working with what you have so that you can shoot often. I started with a single stage shotgun press clamped to my mothers coffee table. Did I get into some trouble with all the bb's in the carpet and scratches on the table.

Nice Idea with the hinges. I just pop the roller wheel out of the track and swing it out of the way when I am working at the ends. Great creativity.

From climate controlled dedicated loading room in finished basement to back of garage at new home. Had to consolidate and compromise. But, it works. Had to sell one Dillon 550. Rock chucker hiding on far right of bench. Have to pay special attention to humidity.

    12ga bp loads

Gents, Plastic wads give much better patterns. I use the Winchester 12 r with 2.5 dr loads. Cleaning is simple. Spray some windex with vinegar in barrels. Let it sit for 5 min and push a brass brush with a patch and all the plastic comes out. We call it snot. You will know why.

Uberti Sharps 45-70 sight issues and resight at 300 Yards

I'm thinking 1400fps will not be possible with 64gr BP. Will work out to 500 and see what happens.

Uberti Sharps 45-70 sight issues and resight at 300 Yards

How do those 525's shoot at 300 compared to 405's? Thinking of trying larger bullets for longer ranges.

    The RUGER OLD ARMY Club

Old black and white. Also probably a very early ROA. Had no idea I would ever be shooting cowboy action and other games at the level I do today. In those days it was all about starting family, getting through school, getting a haircut and starting career. SASS started in 1981.

Cmon J Bar great photo. . No fire but plenty of smoke in this photo from the1970's. Shoot my ROAs all the time. Even gave the Semi auto guys a run at some bowling pin shoots. Stage two loaded ROAs on the table. Kills those pins. Even my Avitar my fixed sight ROAs with 45 Colt conversion...

Uberti Sharps 45-70 sight issues and resight at 300 Yards

Had to resight my sharps. Beware of BP residue on your vernier sight. I cleaned my rifle but probably neglected the sight and it rusted and could not be adjusted. Soaked it in solvent and salvaged it. Shot at 200 and 300 yards and got back on track. This target 300 yards. 405 gr bullet. APP 2f.
