I have both, my 6.5 is more enjoyable to shoot, and fit anfd finish is a bit nicer than the 7.7 Type 99.
You can also use the small dry wall anchors if .22 snap caps aren't readily available.
I just use minteral spirits or paint thiner or a tack cloth and wipe them good several times and let dry for a few minutes
