    Trading a hunting trip.

Thanks for the tips and support. The reason I chose this forum is that I like the community, plain and simple. I've tried out different US fora, and I always end up back here. And it's more about the father-son trip and meeting new people than the number of dead animals and the fanciness of the...

    Trading a hunting trip.

Pressed the button too soon, I meant to write more... So he didn't have time for hunting. And for a Norwegian, Arizona and Nevada is a bit too hot anyway... I'm also hoping to make some new friends in this. I've said it before, this is my favourite US forum, and it would be really cool to...

    Trading a hunting trip.

He already hunts in Denmark, Czech Rep., Poland and Scotland. And a lot of those trips is friends of friends, and tradeoffs like what I'm trying noe. But he has never hunted in the US. His first, and so far only, trip over the Atlantic was last year. And that was for visiting relatives after his...

Yeah, that part I forgot... I'm thinking fall, October/November-ish.

    Trading a hunting trip.

For a hunting trip. I've asked on this forum before about the possibilities for a Norwegian to hunt in the US without going trough an agency. I learned that it wasn't the easiest thing to do, but I'm still gonna give this a shot. Is there anyone who has hunting grounds/rights, who wants to...

What is your favorite style of hunting?

Sitting at the river bank in late april. Ducks, cranes, geese and otters going up and down. Sun slowly setting. And maybe, just maybe, the beaver you're actually hunting will show up. That's zen.

    Ruger finally listened - Mini-14 in 300BLK

http://www.kammeret.no/forum/viewtopic.php?p=932562#p932562 Or one could make one. Not my creation, but I was pretty darn close to copying the project. Then I regained sanity for a brief moment, and sold the old 180-series before I wasted (even more) money on it.

    Ruger finally listened - Mini-14 in 300BLK

The Ares is not legal in Norway ATM, and it never will be for hunting... So again, the Mini in 300BO is a nice option for us over here. And maybe even that will have to go trough a process to be "legalized"...

    Ruger finally listened - Mini-14 in 300BLK

If you'll look outside the US, the AR is not a rifle that's easy to get a hold on. In Norway it's for IPSC, and it's a two year waiting period. And you can't use it for hunting. But the Mini-14 is legal, and the 300 AAC is an interesting caliber. So maybe the market will be bigger for us...

Shopping in US, taking it home to Norway.

Ok. I will not try to transport anything illegally. (Is that proper grammar?) But I think pigs will fly before I can find a folding stock for a Mini 14 in a shop that will export it to me... Hrmph... Brownells here in Norway is a brand new thing, it replaced www.midway.no, and so far it...

I agree. As I said: I'm wondering if I am gonna be in trouble, not how to avoid it.

Now, I rather not do anything illegal. I'm not looking for ways to beat the system here. That said, when a piece of wood is considered a dangerous item, I'm inclined to ignore the law stating it to be so.

As I have said, customs in Norway is not the issue. If, and it may be a far fetched scenario, someone in US customs finds my A-Team Mini 14 folding stock in my luggage (not carry-on), will there be a problem?

I see your point, but there are a couple of things. First: People who are not hunters or sports shooters are complete idiots when it comes to guns and gun parts. Here in Norway the custom service will ask for a license on gun stocks, scopes and things like that. On some occations, the police...
