    Any Machete owners?

My favorite is a WW2 USMC Corpsman's Knife. https://olive-drab.com/od_edged_weapons_tools_usmc_hosp.php Not sure whether corpsmen actually needed something like this to cut poles or it was just an excuse to give "unarmed" corpsmen something to defend themselves with in an emergency.

    .22 mag handguns?

I used to have a Taurus 941UL (IIRC) in .22 Mag. I finally traded it off because the blast made it painful to shoot even through double ear protection. I'd rather shoot a .357 any day. Now, maybe the loads made specifically for short barrel pistols are better in that regard; they weren't...

    'Viking' Hatchet

Here's one I did: I believe the head was originally a lather's hatchet; I found it for a couple bucks at Habitat for Humanity. Still needs a leather sheath.

Interesting new - Buck licenses Remington name HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -(Ammoland.com)- Remington Outdoor C

It's always bothered me to see fine old firearm company names on crap Chinese knives. When I go by the TSA outlet half the S&W knives in the bins are visibly falling apart. I think Remington needs the credibility boost of being associated with Buck, and I assume that Buck sees a proift in the deal.

Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

FWIW I finally took my FEG to a gunsmith and he sanded a bit off the frame- said it was too soft and was peening a bit when the slide came back. Not real thrilled but for $150 it's hard to complain.

The Open Carry of Hand-to-Hand Weapons

I always figured the Buck knife thing was started by "The Dukes of Hazzard." Real popular in my high school. I can't imagine the hysterics if someone showed up to high school today with a Buck 110 on his belt, but half my class did it and no one gave it any thought. sic transit gloria mundi.

    Fencing lessons..

Fencing is very much a thinking sport- outsmarting the opponent counts for a lot more than physical skill. Like playing chess on your feet. I often ended up with bruises up and down my rib cage from opponent's blades. Foils bend but they still leave a mark. They actually make hard plastic cups...

    New Home Defense Weapon ???!!!

Just had a case cross my desk where some yahoo used one in a dispute over a drug deal. Apparently he kept his paintballs in the freezer to make it hurt more. Then another participant came up with a .22 revolver, and guess who ended up on Life Flight?

    2" or Less Blade Folders?

    Kershaw DWO.

    any people of color?

This is old, but I've been busy lately, so to reply to a couple questions/comments about what I originally said: I realize that a Confederate flag might mean something different to different people, especially Southerners. I live in the far Northwest corner of the country, though, and around...

Question for Kershaw Leek knife owners??

One major advantage of the Buck 290 Rush over the Leek (IMHO of course) is that the safety is in the same place as the blade extension/trigger so you can release it and open the knife without moving the knife around in your hand.

    Making a Cane

Here's another picture that I hope shows how it works a little better. My brother's far more talented than I am in woodworking.

    Making a Cane

Right- your butt goes on the seat, your feet go on the pegs at the bottom of the long vertical piece (oak in my picture), and pushing the pegs forward tightens the clamp, which pivots where it crosses the main frame component. You naturally tighten the clamp as your upper body pulls back on the...

    Making a Cane

My brother built this and eventually gave it to me. It's a "shaving horse" designed to hold sticks while the operator uses a draw knife on them. It's incredible how much easier it is to use this setup than it is to peel/carve sticks with a pocket knife. It took him a lot of work to do this...

    any people of color?

Once, early in our relationship, my wife took me to a nightclub in Honolulu where I was the only white guy among about a thousand Asian-Americans (she's ethnically Japanese). Locals are the nicest people in the world, and they were more than friendly to me, but it still felt pretty weird. I...
