    Mounting scope spanning free float?

Do not span from the upper to the float tube. Most times the float-tube is not lined up with the receiver and the spacing changes between the two, you could have problems or damage the scope.

Please help me choose a gun for my law enforcement career

I would shy away from the XD. My acadamy class was told not to buy them or bring them to the range because the mags are to fragile when doing reload drills, when the mags hit the ground the feed lips break.

Please help me choose a gun for my law enforcement career

Find out what they train with at the acadamy and do yourself a favor and buy that gun. It never hurts to have more anyway and chances are your agency will also have that gun on their approved list. Most acadamy firearms instructors teach around a specific pistal and you'll have an eiser time in...

What bullet for 1:8 twist AR?

H335 will work along with Varget or W748. 748 and H335 have been better for .223 loads then Varget for me.

    Tumbler Recommendations

I would stay away from one that has straight sides on it I have a RCBS, 2 Lyman and 1Cabelas tumbler and the Cabelas is my least favorite because the media can spill out if you run it without the lid while you add brass.

    Starline Brass

I have a bunch of .458 SOCOM brass made by Starline and it is very hard. If you dont lube the crap out of it you will get stuck cases.

    .458 Bullet seating issues

I'll set the expander stem back up so it gives a look between the two but is it possible that having hard brass might be a problem? I'll take a picture of the loaded nds so you all can see how the bullets are deforming.

    .458 Bullet seating issues

Ive played with all three of those. Ive been using a belling die but all the ones I can find are .457 so I thought I would see if I could get one that is in the .460 - .465 range and then taper crimp them after I seat.

What ammo would you like to see made?

The liability insurance will cost about 2500.00 a year but is charged depending on how much you produce. I was quoted 2500.00 if I manufacture 1000rnds a month or less and then if I produce 500K rnds a month the policy will cost 25000.00 a year. Ammo is hard to make money with especially if...

How HOT is a bullet in flight?

Standing in the pits pulling targets one day at a 50 cal 1000yrd match I had a round go through the target bounce out of the burm and land near my feet. After marking my shooters target i reached down and burnt the crap out of two of my fingers. The projectile was a 800gr solid. I would think it...
