    Thanks for the quick reply, Radagast. This info was interesting to hear. I got both these from my Dad. I know without seeing them or better pics it would be hard to value them. Do you have an idea on the resale price range of both in, say 85%-90% condition? Thanks again for the info.

    Smith and Wesson revolvers 1) K 201XXX serial number, .22 lr, P79585 stamped on the yoke, 6" barrel...I am not sure about anything else on this revolver. Any info would be greatly appreciated. 2) 1K69XXX serial number, .22 magnum, Mod 48-2 on the yolk, 6" barrel, mfg. date and any other...

    Closer inspection shows the tiny code in front of the trigger guard to be '8B' so I'll guess it was made in August 1950.

    I have a J.C. Higgins 101.7 with 311A stamped on it also. In front of the trigger guard is an oval with what appears to be 11 or II stamped inside. Under the barrels are two circles with an 'A' inside both. Gun appears to be 90-95% finish. I'm interested in finding out when it was manufactured...
