Ruger SP101 .357 Snub locking up- cant figure out why

My SP101 does the same thing. The barrel/cylinder gap is very tight and after a few rounds of lead bullets, it starts to give me trouble. I clean off the front of the cylinder, and it works fine for a while. No problems with jacketed bullets, and powder coated bullets seem to work well. I...

Just Can't Trust my PM9 for EDC

The retaining nut vanished on my CM9 too. I emailed Kahr and they sent me a new recoil spring assembly. The problem was that it was too short for the CM9. I took the retainer off of it and put it on my original assembly. I used red locktite. Whatever they had on the original one was some...

Is the 12 gauge losing it's appeal as a defensive weapon

With an AR, you have to hit what your shooting at, with a shotgun, you only have to shoot a couple shots up into the air according to Biden.

    Ruger LCR.22?

I own one and IMO it is NOT a pos. Mine is dependable, plenty accurate for what it is, and works great for double action snubbie practice which is what I bought it for. I would buy it again for that purpose. If you are looking for a target gun, I would suggest looking for something else...

    New S&W models for 2014

That model 69 could be called the S&W Tracker. Looks like they have taken notice of the Taurus Tracker 44 mag with the lock up, frame size, and 5 shot cylinder. I have a 5 shot Tracker in 44 mag and it is a great gun, the S&W 69 should be even better.

    Felt Recoil .40 vs. .45

Good info Matt, I have a G21 and a G20 with a Lone Wolf conversion barrel. To ME, the converted G20 has more noticeable recoil that sends a shock wave up my arm when loaded with a "almost" max load of power pistol with a 180 grain bullet. However, the converted G20 makes it easier for me to...

    40 cal autos

Out of the several 40 S&W handguns that I own, my favorite for games, range use, and home defense, is my G20 10mm with a Lone Wolf 40 conversion barrel. The big frame makes it easier for me to get accurate shot placement. The gun is super reliable, and shoots right to point of aim with my...

Quick initial review of the Worksharp knife sharpener

I have the standard model. I love that thing. After establishing the convex edge that the sharpener puts on the blade, I find that for me, just a touch up with the purple stropping belt once in a while is all that is needed to get me back in business for my uses. Seems rare these days to...

    M&P 45 compact night sights

I put TruGlo TFOs on my M&P 45c. They list the same number for all S&W M&Ps. I am very happy with the point of impact / point of aim and IMO they are well worth the money. I have them on my jumbo Glocks as well. I like the yellow rear and green front personally. Let us know what you...

    Best AR Magazines chambered 7.62x39

I'm with ya rbernie. I broke one bolt in my x39 AR and that was when hammering that rifle at plate shoots. I keep a spare bolt in the stock of my x39 when using it for hog shooting but I doubt I will ever need it since I don't shoot steel any longer. I pull the bullets on Barnul steel case...

Would an AR be your only rifle?

My choice of what I already own would be my Winchester Mdl 70 30-06, with it's Brown Precision fiberglass stock. Shoots all the standard loads plus home cast lead gas checked bullets for small game. I have a bunch of ARs that I rarely shoot any longer. I do use my 762x39 version for hogs just...

    Ruger P95 accuracy problems

What bds said. We had an gun store / indoor range in my area that sold the super cheap soft lead reloads for use at their range. I could usually find almost new pistols for cheap there because the owners shot them until the barrel leaded up, lost the accuracy and traded them in on something...

    Gunsmith in Northern Ohio

I use C Keith & Co. out of the Akron area. He has done all my gunsmithing work and I am very satisfied with his work. It helps that he has a very short turn around time as well. algar5673 (at) yahoo.com. He will get back to you shortly.

    Time to change sights?

I am having the same older age, can't see the sights problem myself. I went to the Truglo TFO sights on my G21 and M&P45, and the Xs big dots on my M&P9c and XDm 40. I like the TFOs the best for HD and gaming, and the XS best for CCW guns. My experience, yours may vary.
