    Lee Factory Crimp Die

IF you're getting any crimp at all, you'll see it. And you don't need much crimp to be plenty on non-cannalured bullets. There's nothing magic about crimping your box magazine fed .30-06 ammo. Crimping will slightly increase initial ignition pressure and, done correctly, it certainly can...

Powder weight is kind of secondary..

"I have approximate weight (can be +-0.1-02 gr) and micrometer setting." Interesting. How do you confirm that .02 gr accuracy?

    Lee Loader Priming Can Hurt

Welll....don't want to make a big deal about it but the Lee Loader won't hurt anyone. Just to be clear, you set off a primer while using the tool incorrectly and the primer stung you a bit. Using tools incorrectly will often result in misadventure.

    .308 sizing issues

Quote: "sand or grind a tad off the bottom of the die and try again; keep it up until the empty sized cases will chamber easily. (It hardly seems logical to "fix" a shell holder to get a too long sizer die to work right.)" what's the difference? Difference is that shell holders are...

    Undersize Die

The term "small base die" only applies to bottle neck sizers and then - usually - only to those cartridges used in autoloaders, generally .223 and .308. A SB die is normally about 3 thou smaller in diameter at about 3/16" above the case head. If Lee makes any SB dies I don't know it and I'm...

    bumping back shoulder?

"Shoulder bump" is part of the normal effect of FL sizing. A so-called "bump die" (more correctly, it's a body die) is an FL die that's been neck reamed so it doesn't size the case neck.

    .308 sizing issues

Put a good layer of case lube on the lower body of your cases and the extra effort should be greatly relieved. The length of a sized case makes no meaningful difference to the sizing effort. "Cam over", as such, also means nothing - just size your cases until they fit your rifle. Do your...

Well if it isn't "incipent" case head separation than it IS!

That's a seperation, nothing "incipent" about it. Tumbling polishes out any "bright ring" which is the only visual incipient sign of case thinning we gonna get.

    How thick is thick enough?

You shouldn't need treated lumber if you lay on three coats of outdoor paint. 3/4" CDX ply is plenty sturdy for a small work top. AND a lower shelf. 2"x4" legs are more than sufficently strong.

    High Primers After Firing

"What data source are you seeing that 25 grains is barely above a start load?? " Lyman #49. And the fact of the proud fired primers confirms it.

So how many presses do you have

"I've noticed others have one press for every handgun caliber they shoot. The thought has occured to me that this may be a time saving option. What do you think" I think that's a fine idea. Save the time for finding and setting up dies and such; do it for all of your rifles too. (For me it...

    High Primers After Firing

A primer can only back out as far as the "headspace" (sloppy cartridge fit actually) will allow. You're setting your case shoulders back too far and, at 25 gr. of 335, you're barely above start loads for a 55 gr. bullet so you don't have enough chamber pressure to move your overly resized cases...

Difference between Lyman and RCBS dial calipers?

"Both vary by about .08 from each other " Both vary what by .08? If you mean .08 thousant's, that's well inside what any caliper can be expected to accurately do. If you mean they differ by 80 thousants ... welll ... really? And I really like the quality and feel of a Purdy shotgun but...

Difference between Lyman and RCBS dial calipers?

"The only reason I have Starrett and Mityutoyo mike is I got them for FREE. " At that price, go pro. But "free" isn't an option for many of us and paying $150-$200 for the "feel" of an occasional use tool that can be effectively equaled with a $12 Harbor Freight tool makes no sense to most...
