That sounds good. Maybe I'll do a really slow part-by-part build so it won't seem so pricey. I was originally thinking CAR15 (I love simple & minimalist) but it seems a shame to sacrifice a perfectly good working rifle. On the other hand, I don't shoot it often...

I have an 20" A2 with a fixed caring handle & butt stock. I have 16" barrel with front sight post. I need a gas tube, roll pin, hand guards, collapsing butt stock, and H2 buffer. (can I use the original buffer?) Anything else besides the armorer's tool? I figure I can reuse the delta ring...

I'd be more impressed with a single ragged hole at 50 yards but I suspect you won't see one posted anywhere using that receiver. Agree! Ammo...

That is ok! What's the net value of that collection. Some have 1 gun worth way more than all of those put together.

That's the thing, I'm a shooter not a collector. It looked like a nice shooter but I felt I'd be paying collector's price and that is how he touted it, "a collector's piece" he said. I want it but not at that price.

Ran across a parkerized Colt that should have been blued. It looked really good though. How much does parkerizing devalue a gun? BTW, it was a Colt officer's match in .22LR wearing aftermarket grips. Seller was asking $589

I like the shape of the machete. I think I'll try grinding/shaping that profile in my shop. (without the little knife cut-out and the bottle opener & saw.) Been needing a new project.

Kingpin, yeah I get a 10% military discount at Lowes. This knife is fast becoming my favorite beater "EDC" (I hate that term) I dont know the steel type but it stays sharp and is the right thickness for doing a lot of things like opening boxes to striping wire.
