    Del-Ton AR-15 20" Government Profile Rifle Kit

Bought the same kit from Midway several years ago. Added a Nikon P-223 3x9 scope in Nikon rings. Put an inexpensive free float hand guard and a 2-stage trigger. With the right loads it will stay well under 2" at 200 yards from a rest. The rifle does every thing I need an AR to do. Fun gun...

    Custom single six 38 special

Saw one years ago, old model, fixed sights, six shot. Cylinder was too short for anything other than wadcutters. Neat gun, ideal for small game or everyday working gun.

    Ready to start loading .30-06

3031 gave good results with starting loads in my Winchester 54. Best accuracy was with 180 grain spire points. I would not chose 3031 for high velocity loads. 4350 or 4831 would be my choice for higher velocity loads. Never had much luck with bullets lighter than 165 in the old 30-06.

    88 gr jhp 9mm loads?

The Speer #9 manual list data for a 90 gr jhp. 6.8 - 7.2 Unique for 1327 - 1391 fps. A S&W model 39 was used for testing. According to my old notes 7.0 unique and both the Seirra 90 gr and Speer 88 gr jhp's shot very well out of a 1944 FN Hi-Power.

"Carry" .45's: single or double stack, slim, light, etc.

If I want to carry a 45, I just pull my old Colt Commander out of the safe. It was state of art when I bought it in 1983, it is still valid today.

What is your favorite 9mm to shoot?

My Hi-Power is retired. Shoot the G-17 the most now, with the G-26 a distant second.

Looking to add another varmint cartridge, but what?

One of my favorite rifles is an older Remington 700 ADL 222 with a Redfield fixed 10X scope. Just a fun shooting useful rifle. But I always wanted a high velocity 17 of some kind. Red mule

    Which .222 Rem?

The duce is just a very useful everyday gun. Hard to beat in any of its renditions . Mine is an older Remington 700 ADL with a 10X Redfield. Just a great rifle. Rusty

    looking for 30-06 load

Try 58 grains of h4350 or 60.5 of h4831 with the 150 bt. Gets close to 3000 fps out of a 24" barrel with good groups.

Anyone use IMR3031 with their M1A or other .308 gas gun?

Your experience mirrors mine. 3031 did better than 4895, 4064, W748, and H335. I used mostly Hornaday bullets, the 150 and 165 flat based were my favorites.

    9mm 147 cast FN

What's your favorite load for a cast 147 grain Flat Point? I'm using an old Hi-Power and a Glock with a Lone Wolf barrel. I have W231, Universal, Unique, W452AA, and AA #7. I've had very good results with jacketed bullets. Not so good with 125 cast RN & FN.

What do you feed your 9mm for defense?

I use the Federal 9BPLE 115 JHP +P+. Old school, but I like a fast moving bullet.

    Favorite .30-06 load?

For the '06 I prefer H4350 and any common flat base bullet between 150 to 180 grain. It is hard to do better than the Nosler 165 partition for general use with the old 30-06.
