    Mahovsky's Metalife

I hope their work is better than their customer service. I've emailed them several requests for quotations and never heard back from them.

Someone at Remington 100 years ago just saved me

It's not the oversize bullet that caused the damage but the excessive headspace caused by the shorter 8x57 cartridge in a 30-06 chamber. Swaging the .324 bullet down to .308 won't cause pressures to rise enough to do any damage.

Rem 03A3 I got in trade

It isn't a "Mark II" bolt. What you have is an aftermarket safety which allows for a low mounted scope. Additionally, the bolt handle has been bent for the same reason (to clear a scope).

WTB Remington Wingmaster - Whats the best years

I think the alleged quality discrepancies between the older versus newer Wingmasters is a myth. I have several dating back to the early 60's as well as two manufactured in the 2000's. The only difference I perceive is that the early guns have been used more and seem to be slightly smoother...

    Excess Hoppe's #9 a problem on MkII?

Give it an overnight soak in naphtha (available by the gallon in any hardware or big box store), blow any remaining crud out with compressed air, re-lube, and you'll be good to go. You'll be amazed at the amount of crud floating in the naphtha bath by morning. Naphtha is commonly known as...

Value of this 870 Wingmaster Stock?

I posted a similar set on the old Auction Arms website about a year ago and it brought $100.

    Accuracy of the .380ACP

I don't see where either one has a thing to do with accuracy.

Accurizing the M1903 - The How To:

In all probability that's what is causing it to be a 3 MOA rifle. Bedding a slightly pitted barrel isn't going to change that

PA 63 / PPK Grip Question

No. The PA 63 has a back strap where the PPK doesn't. The PA 63 is a Hungarian copy of a Walther PP. Marshall Grips makes grips specifically for the PA 63.

American Classic II or RIA Tactical?

I have full sized RIA's in both .45 and 9mm. Both are solid, dependable, relatively accurate, and trouble free. I wouldn't, however, choose a 1911 style pistol for a hunting gun. I'd be looking for a .357. .41, or .44 Magnum revolver for that duty.

    What's with the Sig P238 and P938?

Look at it this way. When most guys go hunting they have no reservations about carrying a chambered round in their over/under shotgun or rifle with the safety on, but let them see the cocked hammer on a 1911 type pistol and they nearly wet their britches. With the shotgun or rifle they're...

    p238 barrel stainless or not?

No. The barrel is not stainless.

    Bolt vs Semi

At my local club we have "benchrest" matches every spring with "hunting" rifles. The rules specify that rifle and scope must weight under nine pounds. We've been doing this for seven years and not one semi-auto has ever come close to taking home the bacon. All things considered the bolt gun...

What is your preferred, most useful gun?

A 12 gauge pump shotgun with two barrels is more versatile than any other firearm that I can think of.
