    winchester model 67

Was glad to see this post Redman. The 67 was the only rifle I had as a kid (I killed many a 12oz drink can, and a few prarie dogs back then). My dad got it as a Christmas or birthday present when he was a boy. My 11 year-old son loves it!

    .40 S&W vs. .45 ACP

For the purposes of this inquiry, I used the fastest load (fps) data for each selected weight in each selected caliber. This information was gleaned from the Hodgdon reload data tables. I would add a direct link, but their liability page won't let you get directly there. The table lists a max...

    .40 S&W vs. .45 ACP

Mustang vs. Camaro? I really don't want this thread to turn into a bashing contest. I own pistols in both calibers (Both SW99's). I have looked-up data for each caliber, what I am interested in is understanding that data (in a practical sense). I think this would be benneficial to others...

    Homemade Cheek Riser - $7, 1 hour

When I was in the Army, we used a the first aid bandage, and 100mph (green duct) tape. Any job that gets the job done is a good job. RK

    .300 Win Mag

1858, I'm not an experienced enough reloader to argue with anyone. I really appreciate the experience and knowledge that you and other members of this forum are willing to give away. This particular topic has proved to be most helpful. I need more cases. RK

    .300 Win Mag

243winxb, those are some awesome (and very helpful) photos! What did you use to cut the case on the left? The spirals really enhance the overall effect. They lead the eye to the details of what is going-on inside the case. I would have thought there were smoother transitions between high and...

    .300 Win Mag

Thanks everyone. Great stuff. I have gotten a great deal of good information/advice on this forum. It's not that I doubted the article (great job seeing that one, Kernel), I just believe that multiple sources give a greater scope of understanding. Not to mention that the timing was just...

    .300 Win Mag

Hi Folks. Lot's to read out there on the .300 Win Mag. My question relates to brass: I have read that reloading is limited to about three times because belted cases tend to "case-head separate". Does anyone have any experience with this? Are there recommendations that would allow a...

    Berger Bullets

I know the feeling. I just purchased a 700 5r Milspec in .300 Winmag. I have been saving and searching for a year for this rifle. Now...if someone has advice on breaking-it to the wife...I'm all ears. It will arrive on Friday (if ya'll don't see any posts for a week or so, my eyes may be too...

    Berger Bullets

You were absolutlely right! Walt Berger, himself, sent me an email with load data for at least a dozen powders in a neat, easy to read chart. As soon as I get his permission, I will post the chart for all to enjoy. Now, I'm off to the reloading bench, and I hope to post some results...

    Berger Bullets

I have some Berger 60 gr Varmint bullets "match grade". They are hollow points. I have Winchester 748 powder. I cannot find any reload data that corresponds directly to this combination. I have load data for a 62gr jacketed bullet (came with my Lee reloading dies). starting load=25.1gr...

    PMC brass

I was going to say the same thing. Most of my 5.56mm brass is PMC. I remove the crimp with a knife I modified, and the primers seat very nicely.

How to determine what your rifle "likes"

Or, perhaps the double play...when it counts. Has anyone considered making these competitions "boxed". When I was in tha Army, we used to "shoot the box" as a demonstration of skill and rifle/scope integrity. The box was 4 small targets around a central target. Does this not satisfy point...

How to determine what your rifle "likes"

Wow! I had no idea... It's going to take some time to sort through all of the responses, and ask follow-up questions. Lot's of good information, here. I'll start with one of the most recent: Timthestudent: Are you reloading at the range, or do you work-up the different loads at...

How to determine what your rifle "likes"

How do you determine "quality"? I teach Furniture and Cabinet Making to HS students. This is an area that I struggle with on a daily basis (well, minus the Summers): How to teach quality workmanship. I am not trying to be a devils advocate (or a smart-tail), I am "picking your brain". I...
